we had an awesome easter weekend.

it was 70 degrees all weekend - seriously the weather is a total whack job here. 0 snow in March, probably 20 days over 50 degreees. LOONY.

the kids were wearing shorts yesterday at my inlaws. it was the first year I can remember the kids actually being able to wear easter dresses without heavy sweaters.

the kids were super good all weekend. we did lots of walks outside.

time spent with family.

perfect weekend.

Now this week? Josie woke up like a bear awoken half way through hibernation this morning. Good luck daycare teacher! May the force be with you!

oh, and i brought over half the eggs the kids got to work. I'm sure these 20 yr old guys can make short work of them and they won't all end up on my hips.

gift wise, i just went with books this year + puzzle and a game of snap for Char.

they were thrilled. they had forgotten that the eb brought gifts so it worked out perfectly.

we got Dino Baseball, Tryannosaurus Drip, and a Curious George collection, plus a book of mazes for char and a dora coloring book for jo.

Easter went well here for the most part.  Koda got a weird fever stuck at 102 for two days, but this morning seems a ton better.

They only got one lolipop in their baskets.  They got sand toys, bubbles, and a last minute addition of a dragon from that new movie.  Koda saw one preview and has been obsessed ever since.  Worth it.  We held back the books because they had plenty.  We've decided books will be potty prizes for Tristen if I can ever get the kid to even try the potty.

No flops really.  My inlaws drew me crazy per normal, but the weather was amazing, and even with a feverish kiddo, we were able to spend a little bit of time outside getting fresh air.  Wonderful :)

Also, I went through all this effort to get peanut safe bunnies and candy.  Tristen could care about the bunny, and Koda didn't want any of the candy.  Most of the eggs were stuffed with matchbox cars, that is all he wanted.  Lesson learned.

So we went out this weekend and bought Josie a bike - an european one where it has two wheels but no peddles - made of wood. We also bought her a fleece jacket. It was from a REI type Canadian store. They weren't expensive (and they last forever) but the store has a reputation as being expensive and has very recognizable stuff.

She tells everyone she got the jacket from the dollar store, lmao.

I think she means we had to pay for it but it makes me laugh every time.

gm smile

easter was fun. the kids loved the baskets which had mostly little things - caroline got a new brush, bennett got an elmo book & dvd, mikey got toy story mac & cheese,  and they all got a little candy.

as per usual, it's not a holiday unless one of my kids pukes. usually it's caroline. this time it was bennett. it was a little bit on the sleeve of his new outfit before i even got a single picture. :eyeroll:

we went to my parent's house with my sister & her boys. it was fun, we spent some time at a local park then came home around 6:00.... where bennett got out of bed, came down stairs & threw up everything he ate. hmm

i ended up getting sick in the middle of the night too. idk if it's a bug or what? still not feeling great this morning.

LMAO I was having a thin morning.  I was feeling pretty good.  I thought to myself, hm, I'm going to step on the scale.  Four pound weight gain later I realized I  apparently just woke up delusional.

Travis's big interview in Wednesday, I am a nervous wreck but trying to not show it for his sake.  This would be a great position for him, and it looks somewhat promising.  My nervousness comes because if he gets it we will need to pack up and move in just 2 short months.  Breathe.  Breathe.  Breathe.  Trying not to get ahead of myself.

Morning!

Easter festivities went great.

Fun egg hunt at church Saturday morning, 2 non-Easter-related bday parties Saturday afternoon, church Sunday morning, big ham lunch at my parents' house after church with some backyard egg hunting. Later in the afternoon, several neighbor kids came to our backyard to play in the sprinkler and jump on the trampoline.

Then last night, I went to see "Hot Tub Time Machine" with Kimberly.

I need to get my pictures in the computer.

I got home from the movies last night at 9:15ish.

Henry met me at the door and said, "Dad said we could stay up and watch a movie until 9:30!"

I said, "So both of you are still up?"

"Yes."

"Well, that sucks." [Oops, did I say that out loud?]

Henry had school today.

And I have to deal with a grumpy Mark all day because he and I don't have school/work today.

Good morning!

Easter weekend was so nice here.  We also had great weather.  Elizabeth went to an egg hunt Saturday and was thrilled to find the eggs here on Sunday morning.  In fact, she found her Easter basket right away and didn't care.  She just wanted to find the eggs. My ds came to church with us, which is so nice.  Elizabeth was sitting up front at church with other kids.  When the music would start, she would stand up and start conducting.  It was cute.

It sounds like everyone else had a pretty good Easter too. smile

Good thoughts please :)  It is an hour north of here, but not quite as north as the last one he applied to.  This one is associate headmaster of a private academy instead of executive director which is more in line with where he is in the career track, so it looks promising.  Property is pretty inexpensive in the area, so I think we could get several acres which would be our dream :)  It is the turn aorund that has me stressed- and I have no freaking clue how to buy a house, but we'll cross that bridge if he actually gets a reasonable offer.

Easter went really well here.

Kate ate more candy yesterday than she has her entire 2.5 years of life.  I am so surprised she did not throw up.   I'm sure her diet consisted of almost entirely candy the entire day!  She is so cute she would look at me with that ridiculously cute face and say "I eat it?!" and then plop it in her mouth!

Also, she got rain boots in her basket and heart.gif them.  I'm so glad b/c she's a bit of a picky shoe girl!

Jake got Bakugan stuff in his basket and was very happy but the Easter Bunny did not bring the *right* big box of Bakugan's so he must get to Target soon so he can purchase the correct box with his $5 Target coin his Aunt gave him!

They did 3 egg hunts - 1 at church and it was raining but still fun.  1 here Sunday morning and another at MIL with their cousin later in the day. It was so fun to watch them running around - I think we hid 100 eggs for the 3 of them to find.

Oh, and the weather was gorgeous and the church service was nice.

Overall a great day!

and apparently Rod Blagwhateverhisnameis FINALLY got fired from Celeb Apprentice.

Hello Illinois people, seriously?  that man is ridiculous!

I am a bit perturbed with celeb apprent b/c at 10:25 they were in the boardroom and the show lasts until 11 - did Donald think I was really going to stay up 35 minutes for the obvious firing of the Governor?  That show needs to be 90 minutes not 120.

The kids' toilet is giving me issues again today.

I told Mark that his friend Thomas could come over (but not if I can't get the toilet clean).

STOOPID toilet.

Now it won't even flush at all; the water just swirls around.
