A few weeks ago, when I went to Alabama with Henry's choir, all the girls were showing off and trading their "silly bands"--stretchy bracelets that are different shapes when you take them off. I thought how lucky I was that I had a boy and didn't have to deal with them.
Well, two weeks later, Henry asks if he can take some money to school to buy something from the bookstore. "What?" Silly bands. Everybody in his class is buying them, and they are 50 cents at the bookstore. I gave him $2, and he said he was going to buy two for himself and two for Mark. He came home from school with just 2 bracelets and said the bookstore lady set a 2-band-per-kid limit because they were selling out so quickly.
CRAZY!
So I went looking for them last night. Walmart doesn't carry them, 2 Walgreen's were sold out, and the third Walgreen's had two packs--car shapes, thank goodness. One pack for Henry and one pack for Mark. I'm also glad they're just $2.99 a pack.
