We seriously need a remote for our living room. I am SOOOO tired of having four remotes to deal with-we have one in the basement, and I don't think they are that much money anymore. I should look into it-it is SUCH a pain with all of these remotes.

like a universal remote? they are super cheap. i would rather watch wow wow wubbzy on repeat all day long than shlep to the basement to get a remote to switch the channel.

:lazy

Yes.  Those programmable ones.  I think the one we have for the basement would only be like $80-90 bucks now.  Not bad, and definitely worth it. I hated dealing with the remotes down there and it is so nice not to have to anymore.  But up here we have the TV remote, the DVD remote, the stereo remote and the cable box remote-too many.

My neighbors have a really fancy one that does the lights and all too, lmao, but we do NOT need that.

holy moly. $80? does it get up and fetch you a beer too?

our Easter plans include a whole lot of nothing, which i am very happy about.

tomorrow my nephews are coming over to decorate eggs, then saturday night my parents are having pizza and an egg hunt at their house.

on sunday i am planning on making a big breakfast and then we will just lounge around and enjoy the nice weather.

our family seems a bit miffed re. us not spending the day with them, but oh well...i can't bring myself to spend the day indoors. plus one of my sisters smokes and thinks nothing of lighting up in front of me (pregnant), my kids, and my mother (who is on oxygen) and i just don't think i can continue to keep my mouth shut any longer.

You know, people get over these things.  One of Bill's brothers doesn't come to some of the holiday dinners anymore, and at first, it was a big deal and his parents weren't happy.  But now it is just the way it is and no one really cares.  You have to do what is best for your family!

I would be supa pissed about the smoking-that is just not right!!!

It's only in the last few years that stores were allowed to open on Sunday so it isn't that strange to us. I found it bizarre in Boston that everything was open, lol.

I kind of like it. It takes away the pressure. They aren't open so there is nothing you can do so you can stay home and relax.

Good point-and it would force Bill to be more prepared for home projects.  I can't tell you how many times he ends up having to run out to the Home Depot in the middle of projects...

hmmm. i think if dave couldn't run out in the middle of the project, he would be more apt to say eff it and leave it unfinished for eternit,y than to actually plan ahead...

You know...now that you say this, this sounds more like Bill as well.  Hmmm...

IDK about Dave, but Bill is REALLY good at getting projects about 90% complete.  Then that is it.

Oh, I just looked and they are more than that, lol.  They are the kind that basically program themselves, and then you just switch between activities, kwim?  Like you press "watch a DVD" and it switches all of the components onto the right settings for you and plays a DVD.  Then you can switch back to "Watch TV" or whatever, and it puts the components back onto the settings for that.

They are VERY handy.  I hate having to press all of the buttons on the remotes to switch when the kids want to watch a DVD and such.  Or even just to turn things on, I need three remotes!!!!

It would be awesome if the remote fetched.  I would love that.

Morning.

I just got home from Walmart--doing a little grocery shopping and a little birthday party shopping.

Both my kids are going to birthday parties tomorrow afternoon.

This evening, we're going to dye eggs at my parents' house and have dinner there--pizza or something probably.

Tomorrow morning, there's an egg hunt and activities at church.

Tomorrow afternoon, birthday party mania.

Sunday morning, church. Then a big dinner (lunch) at my parents' house.

Excellent photo opportunity weekend.

That sounds really weird.  Ramen and eggs?  I mean, ok, maybe you could say stir fry noodles or something like that that have eggs with ramen, but a fritatta???

Odd.

Hi, Laura!

Henry would be MORTIFIED if I stayed at his party.

Plus Henry's starts at 1, and Mark's at 2 so I can't be two places at one time.

Ihni what time Henry's ends so Glen better be available to go get him.

My kids just came in from the backyard to tell us that Holly went through a hole in the fence to someone else's yard but she came back when they called her.

"A house with two big dogs".

Yikes.

Glen just put some landscaping bricks in front of the hole.

I wish I knew the neighbors who lived there; I'd give them some money toward replacing some of the fence boards.

The boards face their yard.

Oh, lol.  We aren't at the drop off stage yet-little did I know!!! I guess I will find out about that soon enough!

Where are these parties?  At people's houses or other places?

Yes-it is a rib/BBQ chain.  You probably don't have those down there since you probably have the "real" BBQ!!!
