So who has already started planning?  I am out of ideas so far. Usually by now I already know what we are going to do and I start buying things little by little for goody bags and decorations.

I am not sure she will stick to it, but at the moment Elizabeth is obsessed with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.  So a Snow White party is the current thought.  There is a park here with a lake house which is not too fancy but we can rent the room and the balcony patio cheaply and a paddle boat or two.  It's also in a woods, which is kind of snow white like.

You could do a Robin Hood party and tweak it to that.  What's he into these days?

We're doing Super Heroes.

It started out as Super Hero Squad stuff (she's obsessed) which has morphed into Powerpuff Girls, which if you don't know, stopped selling stuff about a decade ago, so yeah.

Right now the plan is to rent a bus that has a bouncy gym inside (like this, although it isn't the same company, but you get the idea), and my gf is starting her own business (soft serve ice cream) so she's bringing the ice cream truck and serving a special flavor just for Hannah's birthday (Hannah will design it a few weeks before).

I'd like to make capes, but I have a ton to make, and now I am hosting a bridal shower, a baby shower, and having to put a ton of money into my niece's wedding, so that may be a lost cause at this point. We'll see.

im inviting kids for both Kiera and Rhys, and the parents. We are having it at the splashpark (a playground with water sprays, etc), so Im trying to find a water theme for both of them. Nemo? Ariel and flounder? Which led me to other Disney princesses, since there isnt alot of Ariel out there. Maybe Tiana and the frog? Poor little Rhys, he is the sidekick this year. lol.

Why not make it an "Under the Sea" party and then you can use disney things or just do things like fish, shells, boats, or whatever you might find under the sea.  It's also unisex.  I don't know if you would need to make food or not but there are all sorts of cool things you can do with that too.

We still do family parties. So far Anna hasn't asked for a friend party, and so I am not bringing it up-I imagine this will be the last year I have to not have to deal with either having 2 parties or inviting friends to the family party. I am not looking forward to figuring out the details of all that!

Anyway, Anna right now wants Ariel. Which basically means she wants me to make an Ariel cake-I don't think the decorations or any of the other stuff matters too much to her-as long as she gets the Ariel cake! She may change her mind between now and then, but right now, we are sticking with Ariel.

She also has requested to have it over at the farm again. Bill isn't happy about that-he thinks it is more work having it elsewhere, but they have a pool and it is in June, so it really is perfect, and I think if she wants it over there, she should be able to have it there! So we will likely do that. Everyone likes being able to go swimming, and our friends' kids and my brother's kids like coming to the farm and seeing the animals and such.

I need to figure out the cake though. Last year I tried to take the easy way out and buy the cake, but it ended up the that I had to decorate it myself at the last minute anyway, so this year I am going back to homemade.

we are doing a 'phineas & ferb backyard beach' party for cole

it's actually just a beach themed party b/c there really isn't much out there for p&f

we do cole's parties in May because otherwise his school friends don't show up (b/c they all have summer homes and shit...lmao)

we were going to have his party at a local fish store that has a HUGE showroom but they're moving locations in may, so we're back at our normal place and will swim and all that

jack is having an ice cream party in july...he has no school friends so that will likely just be family

Probably chuck e cheese again. Last year we did a lunch party during the week on her bday. I was already watching her 3 cousins so I took the 4 little ones and Stephen. My brother came on his lunch hour but he was the only adult. Worked out great since most adults don't want to go to chuck e cheese anyway. I don't do a theme unless the child ask for one.

Mason keeps saying he wants his party at Chuck E. Cheese's again.  It was super easy last year, but I was hoping for something a little more fun for me to plan this year, LOL.

And I haven't even thought of a guest list, since he'll want some kids from his class, but I don't know how all that works with his school, and I'm sure as hell not inviting all 12 kids from his class.

I'm so glad you posted this. I was going to start a thread about having an early birthday party. I want to invite Gavin's school friends but by July we won't have an easy way to do it. I think I'm totally going to do a May/early June party then! Yay!

It looks like it will be a Toy Story party for Marcos.
I don't know if it will be in his school or not (same problem as dorian).

still thinking about it...

Koda hasn't asked for a friend party, so like Supa, we're not suggesting it.  He doesn't really have a friend preference yet, he considers all 20 kids in his class his friends- and that isn't going to happen.  Koda is very into boats lately, so we will probably do a boat themed party at my inlaws camp.

Tristen will want whatever Koda wants, so voila :)

They will both also have a very small un-themed birthday party with my side of the family.  Just your typical BBQ but with a few gifts thrown in.

I have been thinking about the cake, only a Snow White version.  At Walmart they have some disney barbie sized dolls made for water play.  Snow White and Ariel are both available for just under six bucks each.  I think I am going to back a cake in a deep bowl and then cut the hole in the center and stick Snow White in there and frost accordingly.  I was not so hot on the idea, but some others have told me they loved having a cake like that.  The good thing about the doll is that she is very washable and can be used after the cake is cut.  I don't know if that helps you any.  Here's a link of something like what I mean:

I have seen those kinds of cakes (I love that coolest birthday cakes website!!!) and I think that is a cute idea!  Definitely easier than trying to decorate a face and all-that is what I worry about most.

I am not sure what direction I am going to take on the cake yet.  I don't really feel like buying the actual ariel cake pan, I am not sure about the doll cakes yet either.  I think I might try doing the whole coloring page thing on waxed paper, trace and fill with icing, freeze and transfer to the cake.  IDK though.  Thankfully I have lots of time to think about it!  And thankfully, she seems pretty set on the whole Ariel theme!!!  Usually the card and party outlet place has plenty of Ariel stuff there, so it should be pretty easy!!

Are you thinking of doing the doll cake with a snow white?  I think that would look great!!

At the moment I think I am going to do the doll cake.  I have never worked with fondant so I am not sure how it will go.  I might have to experiment first.  I will probably also make some cupcakes and just put some flowers or little crowns or something on them.  I did think about using apples, but since she bites a poison apple, that might be a bit morbid. lmao.gif

I need some ideas.

Charlie does want to invite his class and so does josie. Their birthdays are a day apart so we'll be doing it together.

the problem is Charlie's class has 27 kids and Josie's 17.

No problem, right?

lol.

It will be in the middle of summer so not everyone will come but I need a plan that would work for a lot of kids.

Any ideas? I'm thinking something like a bbq at a park or something like that.
