I've recently been on antibiotiocs for a sinus infection and bronchitis. Now, I've got that great leftover present...a yeast infection. Of course, it's Friday. My Dr's office is closed. They aren't open on the weekend. I've been searching the web to see what I can take for it...it's driving me nuts! But I am hoping that someone is around who has taken stuff before, OTC hopefully.
Does anybody know what would be really, really safe to take? I don't wanna have to go to a walk in clinic for this, so I'm hoping the stuff over the counter is ok.
From what I've read on the internet, monostat 5-7 day seems to be the most common OTC thing to use. I don't wanna call my Dr, because it would be an "emergency" call since the office is closed today. And, because it's my luck, it's Friday. It's been raining hard here all day and I don't wanna drag Andrew into town and have to sit in one of those walk in clinics. Who knows what we'll catch there. LOL!
I had one. I was told to use a lower dose/longer time frame OTC treatment. I used the generic version of monistat. They also recommended only inserting the cream halfway.
hope you are feeling better. Yeast infections are so uncomfortable.
Thank you. I had DH pick some up Friday night. He was thrilled. But, it was that, or me making a 50 mile round trip, in the rain, with Andrew. He got the generic of the 7 day Monostat. I already feel so much better.
