What is your daily schedule like?

Dominic goes to pre-k 4 days a week from 12:00 - 3:00 pm. From Friday - Sunday I feel like we need a schedule. Me and him are home on Fridays and I just feel like we do our own thing, not really anything together. On Saturdays and Sundays my husband is home but it is the same thing, we are all doing our own thing. I will try to get us to all go to the park if it is nice but it has been too cold. I just feel bad because I know I am not spending enough time with Dominic and it is causing him to act out and me to get mad and I feel like all I do is yell at him and we don't have any fun together. cry He really likes to play on the computer so I will try to help him play his games, etc but sometimes he just wants to play by himself. So I am just interested to see what the rest of you do and what your days are like. Thanks!

Jasmine, I don't think my nutty schedule will be much of a help since every day is vastly different with juggling the boys between Travis and myself around my work and his class schedule, but a few things are very regular and we always work our day around them.

Every (and I mean every) Wednesday is library day.  We go and the boys pick out a movie and at least two books.  They sit and play with some of the toys out, or "read" some books in the childrens section.  I will look through audio books or magazines or Travis will if he with them.

Most Thursdays we go to open gym in the winter.  It is free through parks and rec a couple towns over.

Beginning in two weeks, the boys will be going to one hour of swimming at the University on Fridays (though to be fair and honest I am hiring a college student to walk them over and swim- she is a life gurad looking for a side job).

We try very hard to get the boys out every morning, even when it is cold.  The only time they don't go outside is if they are sick, or if it is scary cold.

Oooh, and I almost forgot.  We instituted Friday Family movie night a couple months back.  Every Friday night we make pizza together and the boys pick a movie that we watch as a family.  Even though I've had more than my fill of scooby doo to last a life time, we hope this tradition will stick so we have family time as the boys get older.

I think picking a couple of routine things that will be regular allows the rest of the time to sort of flow around that.
