i feel so old...i recognized about three people...lol
after watching it, i had to go and watch the original and got so nostalgic....i was in the 8th grade and that was our "theme" for our graduation. i remember discussing it in-depth with my friends on the school bus. brings back alot of good memories.
so, what did you think of the newer version? i thought it was "ok" but that was only because i remember the original when it came out and it is hard to compare it.
oh and i got a littler teary-eyed with the part of michael jackson singing.

I just watched it for the first time thinking I would hate it. I LOVED it! LOVED it. I remember listening to the original and just waiting for MJ to come in and sing his part. I loved Michael Jackson. I thought this version was fantastic though. :D
I really liked it for many reasons. I am not a MJ fan, but I think this is one of the things that he did do that was truly good, and I think that including him in the video was the right thing to do. I also like that it had a variety of styles and there were some older celebrities in there (even before my time ) I am not saying I know who most of them are, but I guess I am looking at the over spirit of the video.
As for the original, I think when it was made it was one of the catalysts to really connecting the world globally. I was about 20 and for me, it was a bit of a shot of reality about my impact as an adult and what I chose to do in regards to others and the world around me.
I really liked the new one and since having a 15 year old I knew most of them. My DS looked up the old one on you tube and had to tell him who most of them were.
