We did trips all the time since my parents were both teachers.
Disney World/Florida for two weeks when I was 7 (so fun) was probably the best memory I have.
But we went camping all summer and went on ski trips in the winter (one when i was in high school and a big group of friends were there with their families).
yep, i do. my dad always took us to FL each summer to the beach. my mom we stayed closer but we still did fun things going to different zoos, museums, amusement parks, etc.
I remember our trips to Disney. One in first grade and one in 4th. We went to LA and Tahoe in 8th grade. I also remember when we'd go camping with my Mom's family.
I think part of the reason I'm so desperate to go on a real family vacation, is that we only ever travel to Canada to see Mark's parents. I want to broaden their horizons.
We worked from 2-5am last night, so I'm hoping I can squeeze in a nap today, but it's also a Wednesday, which is driving all over tarnation day.
My favorite trip was to Virginia Beach when I was around 10 - by that time, my sisters had moved out and started lives of their own, and my parents weren't miserable around each other yet, so I remember it being a blast, being spoiled, running around doing touristy things, and hanging out with cousins, aunts, and uncles that lived in the area that I've since lost contact with.
I went to Disney as a young teen as a babysitter for my sister. Her (now ex) husband was a jerk, it was blazing hot, and it sucked. But I know I *could* have had fun under different circumstances, so I can't wait to go back. Shockingly, Joe was there, too (my sister and his dad were down there for a conference, and both brought their families) - so we were staying right down the hall for an entire week and never met until 3 years later.

When I was a kid we went to Bodega Bay, Ca once or twice a year. It's where The Birds was filmed. We would get a hotel room, then we rented an RV once and stayed on the beach. After that, my Dad went out and bought a fully stripped 19 foot RV for $1500. It had a driver seat, an orange toilet and an engine. It took forever and a ton of work to rebuild it, but it happened. Then we'd cram 2 adults, 4 kids and up to 6? dogs in it and go.
