I think they are pushing themselves harder; it's like a wicked game of one-upping.

I haven't watched any on the skating, which sticks because it's my fav.

Oooh, I think that would be so fun! And then you can explain to all of us wtf is up with that sport, lol!

ask away! Charlie is newly obsessed so I've had to figure out all the rules to explain to him.

my parent's played (ages ago) and it is certainly a Canadian obsession (just behind  hockey).

Good movie if you're curious - Men with brooms. Only in Canada would you have a movie about curling. lol.

Danielle is sick today; she woke up and said her head hurt and throat her, and I called B.S. Then I took her temp, which was 101.6, and sent her back to bed.

Her teacher conference is Thurs night, and I'm super nervous. I feel like we are judged as parents when she slacks off.

I wish they could see a glimmer into our home, and know that we are trying with her. Blah.

I'm sorry you are nervous about that. It just seems so wrong that you would have to feel that way. I don't know what the answer is but would the teachers prefer that you do her homework for her and turn it in or what? I sort of feel like they are missing the most important part of the equation - Danielle.  I don't know though.

Don't get me wrong, her teachers are awesome. But this whole notebook business is making me nuts. I sign it, they sign it, but she still slacks.

I am trying to look bigger picture right now, which is clearly exhibited in my rambling posts under the thread I started, lol.

I seriously think sometimes posting on this board is as good as therapy; typing everything out, bouncing back and forth, really brings the issue to the surface (ie, the problem isn't homework, but something bigger). Maybe I should see if Tex and Damon will start taking my insurance, lmao.

That could be the title of an excellent women's porn video: hot men, cleaning the kitchen. Awesome.

We watch it, and it appears that it does take some skill to not fall on your face when trying to "sweep," but it reminds me an awful lot of that bar game where you slide a disk on a table covered in salt.

good morning

i have all kids home today.

bryce complained saturday ngiht of his throat hurting. yesterday he was still complaining did not eat and said his stomach hurt. i looked in his throat and saw white spots so john took him to after hours his temp was over 102 when they got there, needless to say he has strep throat.

toni, sounds just like how danielle's symptoms came on, i hope she does not have strep.

Yikes, I really hope strep doesn't rear it's ugly head here. After having Juliette sick with it for over 8 months a few years back, I was hoping not to have to deal with it anymore.

A pipe dream, I know, but a dream all the same.

I hope Bryce feels better soon, poor boy cry

Good morning!

If I could compete in any sport it would probably be gymnastics or maybe diving.  If I had to do a cold sport it would be figure skating or speed skating.  Not that I am any good at any of those things now. lmao.gif

Boo to all this illness! evileye E is at school today, but she is on amoxicillian.  She missed her birthday parties this weekend.  I took her in to be checked on Thursday.  It was not her normal doctor and they kind of poo pooed me because she really wasn't "sick".  He gave me some speech about her tonsils not really being swelled, but just really big from growing.  They did a strep test to humor me.  Well, Saturday morning I get a call that she has Strep B. bleh I won't be going back to that doctor.

Jaunita I am glad you had fun.  I have had a cranberry martini that was super yummy, so I bet the blackberry one was delish!

I will never forget, right after Kenneth and I got married we went to Minnesota for over a month for his job.

I kept seeing all this stuff in people's trunks, and I thought "Why in the world are these people riding around with brooms in their trunks?"  Then I found out it was a SPORT!!  I've never laughed so hard in my life!  EVERYWHERE you went you'd see brooms in people's cars, LOL

Almost EVERY person has fallen!  I think the only ones that didn't were the medal winners, lol.   It has really been something!

I wonder to if it is something to do with the weather.  It seems like every time they go they are presented with different weather conditions. I mean one day it was above 50 when they were doing downhill.

gm all

i'm already out of patience and it's 8:45 am. NOT a good sign.

mostly i think it's just stress/anxiety because we have to go in for a whole day of chemo today.

it's just not fun. i'm tired of it.

and yesterday i met a woman who lost her little boy (around mikey's age) to blood cancer.

i'm a bit....raw ....today.

Sara I hope it all goes exceedingly well today.  Having a cranky teenager added to the mix doesn't help.  I will be thinking of you and sending some prayers and happy vibes your way.

i have not watched to much of the actual ice skating.

i have watched the speed skating and i know that ice has been giving them all sorts of fits as well due to the humidity, lights, etc.

 T.O.T.A.L.L.Y!

Jack has other issues but I HATE going to his P/T conferences because of the red.

It's nice though when I schedule Ryan's right after Jack's because I need to hear good things about my child for 20 minutes to come down from the first conference.

That reminds me of that porn for new moms book. Hilarious and great baby shower gift.

had to post a random owen funny john told me about yesterday.

i guess he asked john,

what will happen if i play with my balls for a long time?

i asked john what he told him, he said,

nothing owen, but like your penis if you want to play with it you need to do it in your bedroom because people do not want to see you messing with your balls.

ahhhhh, boys! and i am so glad i didn't have to field that question.
