diane had to take abigail to be admitted for jaundice.

we all know how treatable jaundice is, but a newborn back in the hospital is never fun.

i'm sure di would love some p&pts that they get to come home soon.

Oh, that sucks. I wouldn't wish that on anyone... nothing like an introduction to being a mother of two that includes being forced to choose which child to be with.

Prayers for Abigail and Di. heart.gif

Sending positive thoughts.  Gone through this twice, and as much as you know it is so treatable, it doesn't make it easy.

Big hugs going there way!

Poor baby cry. I went through this with both kids, and it is super stressful.

I hope baby Abigail is back home with her family soon heart.gif

You ladies are the sweetest heart.gif.  This was so wonderful to see today!  And thank you April for starting this thread.

We'll be here for another night but will hopefully be able to go home tomorrow since her levels are already coming down.

I know jaundice is very common so I'm not too stressed about that.  We really kept on top of it this time and had her tested daily so we were prepared when she needed to be admitted.  It was a MUCH different scenario that we had with Meghan were we had to admit her STAT and the whole thing took on a much more urgent and scary tone.

What I really need prayers for is that we can continue breastfeeding.  It is turning into the same situation as I had with Meghan where she never wanted to latch again after having a bottle.  I pumped whatever I could for about 5 months afterwards (which was always very little) but I just can't see myself pumping again.  It's just way too stressful trying everything I can to even make it to even an ounce.

This time, I'm supplementing with a syringe so I'm hoping that will help a bit.   She is starting to love the syringe too because, well, it's easy.  The good thing is that this time they are letting me take Abigail out to BF.  Again, hoping this will help keep us going.

Thank you so much for all of the support.  I really needed to see this today. heart.gif
