If I remember correctly you are getting the Oberweis Milk.  I read their info so I know they are hormone and antibiotic free, which is the type of milk we have switched to using.  If you don't mind, I would like to ask you a couple of questions.

I can get it at the store or I can get it delivered for $2.99 per delivery.  Are you getting it delivered?  Is it worth the charge?

Have you bought and returned bottles at the store, and if you have was it a hassle?

Since it only comes in half gallons, if I buy a few bottles, how long do they last?

I like the idea, but just wonder if I would be able to keep up with the bottle return.  Are you liking the milk?  Have you found it to be better?

I would love to have your thoughts on this!

Thank you!

Love the milk.

We do not have any of the stores near me, so we do delivery. Honestly, delivery is the way to go. It is worth the 2.99 to not have to hassle with it. I have a cooler that they just put it in and I leave the bottles in there. Many times I order something else and just change my order online by 10pm on Tuesday night(our delivery is on a Wed)

Not sure how much milk you go through. We order 2 gallons total. Mia is on whole still and we get 2 1/2 gal of that and 2 1/2 gal of the fat free skim. We are not huge milk drinkers though. I sometimes have to not get the full order because we do not use it all up in a week.

The milk lasts longer then my weekly delivery. So, if you do delivery system and do not think you will use it up in a week then I would just do the store visits then. That is not an option for me and Oberweis is very new here in Michigan. They are starting to open stores, but none around me yet.

On average my weekly bill is like 12 -14 and that is including delivery and bottle charge. The bottle charge is a dep and is removed when bottles are returned.

We have switched to Oberweis too.

I have to get it in the store because we do not have delivery near us.

This is only my second week.  The milk is $3.50 a half gallon + a refundable bottle deposit of $1.50.  I have yet to return the bottle I bought last week but I asked this week at check out and they said just bring it to the service desk and the $ will be refunded.

We drink quite a bit of milk (3 gallons per week) but I've tried to curb that back a bit by adding more water to our diets so I'm not spending $25 a week on just milk.

Oh, and the milk I bought on Monday of this week is good through 2/22/10 so 1 week (and we have NO trouble using it by then).

I wonder if it is more if you buy the milk in the store vs. delivery?

My 1/2 gal is only 2.03 for the skim and 2.12 for the whole.

I just got my receipt out - mine is $3.29 no matter whole, 2% or fat free +$1.50 bottle deposit.

Last week I got fat free - I didn't drink it but the kids did and they drank it and DS1 said it was really good.

This week I got 2% and we'll try that.  When I buy cow's milk I always get 1%.

If it was only $2.03 for 1/2 a gallon I would buy up 3 gallons a week and not sweat it!!!  But at $9.58 a gallon ($3.29 x 2 + $3.00 in bottle dep) I cringe a bit!!!

I'm hoping that we can get delivery at some point (I just assumed it was the same price as in the store)!

Do you pay a bottle deposit?  Or just the $2.99 delivery fee?

Interesting, it must be because of delivery then that it is cheaper price?  Maybe it is the region? If I go on their web site though the prices are the same as what I pay.

I pay a 2.99 and the bottle fee that gets credited each pick up, so really it is a wash on that.

Oberweis is new to our area, so I was excited to see they expanded to deliver here. I love the milk and how it tastes and I do not drink much milk.

I'm looking at the website and it says $2.89 or $2.99 per 1/2 gallon . . . and your's says $2.03 or $2.12?  Geez I wish I could get it for that!!!

I filled out a form to have them notify me when delivery is available in my area.  I won't hold my breath though!

Kris, it is just for home delivery. I looked on the main site and it is what you said. I did not realize that I was logged into home delivery when I was looking at the products. I guess you get it cheaper for delivery. This is a pic of my order. It comes to 11.29 for 2 gallons, plus the 2.99 delivery.

hole Milk $2.12 * *
1/2gal
Fat Free Milk $2.03
