we painted and put down a new floor and i can't believe the difference! the before picture does not really show how bad the floor looked (it was tile and there were lots of broken pieces and cracks).
we are planning on putting up a backsplash, painting the countertops and adding shelving. I also plan to touch-up the cabinets and add new hardware. we ended up going with a bigger pendant light in the middle of the room and we have a smaller one over by the sink (can't show that yet b/c the area is messy ;)
What kind of flooring did you put down? It looks great!
Thanks Toni! We didn't put the floor down ourselves....but it is pretty easy to do. it is a floating floor...you don't have to nail it down.
Is it hardwood? It looks really good!
no...it is laminate. I dont' know the brand off-hand but I can find out if you like
That's super cool- we are just ready to put laminate down in our whole house, so I'm interrogating anyone who has it, lol!
I found a brand with a solid AC rating, no formaldehyde in the coating, lifetime warranty (even against moisture and pet accidents), and looks nice. I am just super nervous about whether it's going to look fake or feel weird when it's down.
We are bouncing between that and hardwood, but I love the idea of having a floor my pets and kids can be on without me freaking out, lol!
So how do you feel about it now that it's down? it looks awesome in the pictures!

I really like it! so much that I want to extend it throughout the first floor (we have hardwood in the dining room, living room and foyer) but it needs to be refinished. it is so easy to clean and compared to the tile, i am in heaven ;)
