I have a suggestion that is less permanent.  I have seen those vinyl wall type of stickers that are made to work like a chalkboard.  I know our Border's have them, but not sure of the shapes.  But if you look I bet you could find some that would fit and then if/when you were tired of them you could just peel them off.  If you are really digging it, then you could paint them that way permanently.

kelly...i am painting our upstairs 'family room" FINALLY!!  I am not loving the color...it is so strange, but I picked the same color as in the guest room, but since the family room gets soooo much sun, it is much lighter than i would like.  but, oh well...i am not repainting...lol  but, i also have to paint over all the moulding/trim w/ white paint and the door leading to the bathroom is sticking out like a sore thumb.  i will take a pic and show you!

Here are a few pics of the progress and the door.  i couldnt' get a wide shot of the door b/c all the furniture is in the middle of the room blocking a shot.  but, i would paint each inset w/ chalkboard paint and the outside white (like the trim)

It is Valspar Fennell Splash (the same color that is now in three of  my rooms...soon to be four and two stairways and a hallway (yay for me, huh? lol)

i think it looks too light, but maybe once i get all the walls painted and the trim done, i will like it more.  i painted the brick antique white and i am sooooo tempted to just paint the whole room that color.

I really like that color too. You posted some other pictures earlier and I was going to ask you about the paint.  I want to paint my kitchen a green color and think that would look good.  Where did you get it?

Oh, and I think the doors would look great like that.  For a quick visual you could always tape up some black construction paper on the panels.

You are so smart, Libby!!  I painted one and decided I didn't like it so I am just going to paint it white - boring, i know ;)

I got the paint at Lowes...it is Valspar Fennel Splash.
