Ok, I now cannot drink red wine. I have such awful reactions to it and get all congested and feel like crap when I drink it.

I have never been a white wine drinker and need some help.

Anyone drink white wine and want to give me some suggestions?

I do not like real dry.

I can't do dry wines. I think Reislings are a good choice.

I'm not much of a wine drinker myself......

But of the few thousand bottles that I've consumed, I like Toasted Head Chardonnay the best.

Give it a shot, it's delish. It's buttery and fruity.

If you want something ever sweeter than chadonnay then try a Riesling.

I figured you would know nothing about wine.

Thanks, I am writing that one down. Is it really expensive? I want a decent price so that I can consume more, lol.

Do you drink any pinot grigio

i used to always drink pinot grigio - and then i became a red wine drinker.
white gives me a headache - that sucks that you cant drink red anymore.
the only white i can really recommend is pinot - it's the only one i used to drink really.

I like pinot gris.  It's not an overly sweet wine.  pinot noirs is a red wine that is somewhat similar in taste if that helps.

i prefer pinot grigio to chardonnay most of the time.

if you want to try a white that isn't too dry, i LOVE the luna di luna in the yellow bottle - it is a pinot grigio/pinot biaco (i think) blend. it is super light and perfect for summer, but i drink it year round.

i tried riesling 10 years ago or so when someone recommended it to me and it was WAY too sweet and fruity for me. it could have been just the one i got, but i've never gone back. blech.

really? interesting with the white. I thought red has higher sulfites?

well, I hope it does not happen with white now too.

I use to only drink red and was a merlot and cab drinker.

yeah, I think rieslings are too sweet for me too. I remember at a wine tasting that was the case.

I will check that one out too. I am going to be looking for my perfect white and plan to try all recommendations.

Do you chill all white wines?

What you really need to do is get a babysitter and your dh to drive and go to a wine tasting or to a vineyard and go for it. biggrin Just have a notebook to jot down what you like.

you are sooo right, but I do not see that happening until maybe Spring. We actually do have many here in Norther Michigan in the Traverse City area.

I want to go back to NY state and go to the wineries there.

I like a nice pinot on a warm summer day. LMAO.

Sauvignon Blanc is nasty in my opinion, stay away.

Toasted Head goes anywhere from 8 bucks to 14 bucks.

I grab a bunch when it's on sale at the grocery store and of course, you always get a discount when you buy 6. ;)

Oh man I can't wait to drink again.

I love red wine but if I am going to just have one drink, I often like a nice glass of white.

Any more than one glass of white though and I get headaches and am up all night. I'll go to sleep like normal and then an hour or two later I am up like it is morning. Wide awake.

so, that said, I don't have any recommendations. lol

I was drunk one night and I got thrown in the slammer so I decided to cut down.....

Just kidding, weight loss. I'm on the wagon for 2 1/2 months.

I have never really met a glass of white wine that I didn't adore, lol!  There are a ton of wineries out on Long Island, if you ever make it out this way. wink.gif
