any recommendations? i'm thinking about starting to make our bread here. we used to have one when i was a kid and i LOVED it. the bread is delicious. i imagine they are much smaller now than they used to be, too - lol. is it economical to make your own? do those of you who make bread spend a lot on ingredients and stuff?
I am lmao here. I was just looking at these this weekend. I use to own one, but it was huge and I gave it away when I moved. I too was thinking about making my own wheat bread. My only issue is how do you get it to slice nice to make a sandwich for the kids? Allie has to take a school lunch. I think if I recall they have a slicer thingy. That is pretty technical, eh.

you and i are this close to living in a yurt. i'm glad we're not neighbors - LOL. i think there is a slicer. need to look into it. i'm looking at the cuisinart at BB&B for $129.

do you know we would be hermits because we would freak ourselves out and not leave the house, lol.
The reviews are good on that one? I need to go see these in person to see how big they are. My problem is the room. I have so many dang gadgets that take up space. My food processor takes up mega room.
I made whole wheat pizza yesterday and it was pretty good. I just cheated and bought the dough at Trader Joe. I am going to make my own next time, but it was pretty good. I just did cheese and veggies.

so funny. i was THIS close to buying whole wheat pizza dough for dinner last night but decided to use the boboli in the freezer instead - final hurrah - lmao. (I think boboli is actually not that bad at all though). we'd totally freak ourselves out. did you read that article about cord blood and toxins? you can see all the stuff the newborn is exposed to through the cordblood - incredible.

God, no. I cannot read about that. I would flip. I have enough gilt over not breastfeeding Mia a full year.
If we even knew the chemicals and toxins we took in each day. There is only so much I can do. I am starting with stuff I can control.
Speaking of control. Did you switch your shampoo? I need a good one for Rich and I . I do not like the burts one.

You most likely did not roll it thin enough or cook it long enough. I cooked it longer then it said on the bag. It is not the same taste as reg pizza, but I thought pretty good.
But if you end up with one, I'd love to hear what one. I've been thinking that a breadmaker will be my gift to myself after my birthday next week. My sister has one, and nothing smells better than that cooking.

when is your bday? i love a nice cinnamon raisin bread -- cranberry - YUM.

yeah burt's is awful i bought the tea tree peppermint shampoo and conditioner ($3 a bottle for a LOT) and it's really great for my hair. much softer and less knotty than burts. plus it's really tingly and a cool sensation on your scalp. my hairdresser friend who's also on this organic kick bought this stuff she swears by - but i cant think of the name. something like "go" -- or something. random. they use a lot of carrot. eta: duh, the tea tree peppermint stuff is from traders.

by the way, size is an issue here too. my kitchen is teeeeeeeeeny. i do have a room off my kitchen with some shelfspace which can house the machine, and i guess technically i can let the bread bake in that room if i had a little table for it. but our kitchen has only 1.5 outlets - insane.

seriously. i'm like 2 tweaks away from going macrobiotic.
