The building has been there forever, but it's been through a ton of changes. It wasn't a restaurant until around 1990 IIRC, but I don't remember what it was. I had my 15th birthday dinner at the restaurant it was then, but it changed another 2 times at least before the restaurant on Kitchen Nightmares.

My FB friends tell me:
"He (Gordon Ramsay) did get rid of everything. I went in there a week later and I have to tell u the food was not very impressive and the old lady was just as nasty as she was on the show! The owners blasted gordon in the readington news and they changed the sign. He encouraged them to buy locally and they changed that immediately! He is going to be disappointed when he goes back!"

"This is the restaurant by the train station on Main Street, it has been several different things over the years. Spiottas was the one before Flamangos. Then Kitchen Nightmares came in and changed it to "The Junction". Was an interesting show, we ate there a couple times before and then right after it reopened, it wasn't bad the few times we went and the owner lady at the front was always nice to us when we went in there"

"We were surprised she was so nasty on the show, we must have caught her on a rare good day! We have not been back since we tried it after they remodeled, we thought it wasn't bad, but it wasn't enough to make us want to go back and after the show and seeing how the owner was, we probably will never go again. I'm surprised they've lasted as long as they did."

"Apparently there are so many people disgusted after the show aired they are boycotting!"

LOL

It's a very small town, and there aren't many restaurants there, so word of mouth is huge. It's funny that Gordon had them change the name of the restaurant to "The Junction", because there was a restaurant called The Whitehouse Junction nearby up until a few years ago. It was my family's favorite place and we went there all the time. I don't know if Gordon ganked the name or just didn't know, but I'm pretty sure the employees would have had to have known about The Whitehouse Junction if they lived in the area for a while.

And one of my classmates was on the show, LOL. She said "We've been here since 6:00, and that's just too long."

When you watch it, look for the Readington Library next to the restaurant. It's also the train station, and when my mom was the Readington Women's Club president, she had it converted into a library. :) My dad used to take me there on weekends when I was little. heart.gif
