our blue moon baby is here!

my waters broke in bed at about 5:45 am this (sat) morning.  i was half asleep and heard a "pop" and felt a trickle. not so much came out though.

got to the hospital a little after 6:30 (had to de-ice the car...).   thank GOD i sat on a thick bath towel in berts car - nearly there i gushed and gushed amniotic fluid.  funny i burst into tears and it made it gush more lol.  soaked everything!   by 7:30 the contractions were like a train - one after the other without relief, so i took an epidural.  (they didnt want to give me one as i was 5cm already)

i could still feel the cntxns real hard - had 2 in a row and that took me to 10cm with just a bit of rim left.  we waited for the doc who came about 7:45.

my cntxns had slowed down a bit. tried to push once and head was there. second push and head was out.  cord around neck was released.  tried one more push but shoulder was stuck behind the pelvic bone- doc took my right leg, straightened it and did some kinda yoga twist with it (glad my legs are bendy lol) which released the shoulder to come out the next push.  born at 08:03.

baby weighed in at 8.5 lbs! (that surprised me!) and 20 inches long.  very fair skin and blonde, almost white peach fuzz hair and eyelashes - most like timmy.

and babys name is....  CATHERINE ELIZABETH. smile.gif

P.S: can you have your OB contact my OB to teach him this special yoga move that gets babies unstuck? LOL

So happy!! Your labor/delivery sounds exacly like Allyson's was!!! Water broke at 5:45, hospital 6:30, she was born at 8:10. It was so fast!!! She is beautiful! I'm so happy for you buys!
