good morning!

it was a long night.

i was asleep at 10:15 when i hear Owen crying. go in and he is completely naked and had started to have a bit of diarrhea in his pj pants and bed. i got him to the bathroom cleaned up and changed his bed. told him we were going to do a diaper (so i did not have to deal with that all night) he did great and never went in his diaper but was up 4-5 times through the night. he is still asleep now. what the heck with fridays and sickness here?!? bryce had the same thing last week, keegan has just had the sinus infection so i am hoping and praying his amox. will keep him in the clear of it.

i got no sleep so i will be a grump.

i was then stupid at dinner last night and decided to eat sloppy joes. of course the tomato based sloppy joes made me a miserable mess the rest of the evening. duh.

but on the upside we are going out with three other couples tonight. so excited!!

GM!

How's my stress level you ask?  FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY getting better.  What an intense three weeks.  I got my first full night of sleep last night since my stomach flu.  This weekend, while full of interviews both Saturday and Sunday, will mark the end of the intense period of my staff selection process.

I can *almost* breathe again.  Thank goodness.

Koda had a filling at the dentist yesterday.

Travis and I both had wretched experiences with fillings as children.  We were petrified.

We built Koda up to be a brave boy, and he would get a toy after at the store.

5 minutes, no novacaine, just a surface scraping and filling later, we feel we got suckered into a new toy, lol.

Thank goodness times have changed.

ug sounds loike a great day all around huh?! sara i hope owen is feeling better - nothing worse than no sleep.
jenn, glad things are clearing off your plate a bit.

we had to take daytime-binky away from cara starting today.  it's been a FIERCE morning.  she developed this terrible rash on her chin about a week ago, and she keeps rubbing it bc of the drool from the binky - it's getting worse and worse, and she cried that her chin hurts - so it's time to get rid of that thing.
she has been literally SCREAMING for an hour. i feel TERRIBLE.
and i know that once i get her in the car, it's just going to be another round of screaming.

but i know that rash isnt going to heal if it keeps getting soaked in drool and rubbed all day.  i think i caught this right in time before it becomes a sore, and then a scab, which would NEVER heal as long as that binky's in there. i know i need to do this but holy crap this is BRUTAL.  she's soooo upset.  :(

Sara, what bad Friday's at your house. I hope you get some rest this weekend.

Jenn - glad the cavity was just a tiny one and painless for him. I hate dental work.

I had my allergy testing last night. I had 70 pokes on the back and 11 needles in arm. I am allergic to cat, hamster(this made me laugh), grass, dust mites, pollen and mold. What a surprise. I have zero food allergies though. I have to stay on the inhaler 2 X day, nasal steroid daily and one more week on the prednisone steroid. I really want off that one. Then I have to decide if I want to do allergy shots or try to just get by like I have been on the zyrtec and then the nasal steroid. Anyone on here to allergy shots?

Soooo glad it is Friday. Once again I will be put in front of tons of food all weekend. I have a surprise Birthday party on Saturday and then another party on Sunday. We are also doing a bowling party with kids from Allie's school.

Good luck with that. I bet it will get easier with each day, but I can only imagine. I do not know what to do with Allie. She still sucks her thumb at night and when tired. She does not at school, but there seems to be no stopping. The Dr. said not to worry, but I do not want her teeth getting all jacked up. I almost wished she would have taken to the binky. I cannot take her thumb away, lol.

that just made me dread here in a 2-3 years when owen has to get the full panel.

anyways, he is allergic to mold, dust, pet dander and cockroaches that we know of.

i am pretty sure he suffers from some seasonal outdoor allergies but he has not been tested for those and won't until he is between 6-8.

he is not on allergy shots.

he is on zyrtec daily, he also has a nasal spray, veramyst that we use.

also, due to your allergies you need to shower daily at the end of the day to wash away anything you come into contact with through the day.

also would be a good idea to get matress covers for your matress and pillow.

we also run a cool mist humidifier in owen's room each night. i am sure that would help you as well.

he has eczema as well so we do a few other things to treat that issue but overall the above is his allergy regimen.

he also has another med, xyzal that he takes when he is having a particularly bad day.  with winter he hasn't had to take it. but some in the spring, summer and fall there were times he had to take the xyzal in the morning.  he would tell me though and complain of his head hurting.

i have also noticed with him lately anytime the weather is about to change he tells me his head hurts. i am sure that is sinus pressure he has building up. i hate it for him. cry

Owen is a thumb sucker as well.  He shows no signs of stopping anytime soon.

It is why we pushed the paci so hard on Keegan. Bryce was a paci baby and we took it away around 2 1/2. I will most likely do the same with Keegan.

I know it is not funny, but I just laughed.

I really hope she does not beat you up too much. It will get better. I know this, but it is hard to get through those first few days.

poor, owen. I know how crappy I feel.

honestly, the pokes in the back are not that bad. They do them in big panels at a time, so you are not getting 70 individual pokes. I will admit the arm ones with full needles did suck, but not sure they do those to kids or not.

I do need to get a good air filter up in my room and I think I will look into a mattress cover.

I just do not know what to do. If I should get the shots or not. They say it is healthier then taking the zyrtec and that daily. I am on the same nasal spray as owen :) I will see how I am the next three weeks with my zyrtec and if it stays like it has been then I think I will have to get the shots. I have been way too miserable to keep going like this. For me it has been year round.

kelly - I'm sure it must be pure torture for you and Cara today.  Hopefully it will get better with each day.

We took Kate's away last June'ish I think.  She did fine with us taking it - she did ask for it and cried for it for awhile.  I think she would *still* take one to this day if she could find one!

My mom got her a baby doll kit thing for x-mas that included a fake paci and it was cute at first b/c she was putting it into her baby's mouth but that didn't last long and she plopped it right into her own mouth.  That was cute for a bit too but the second she dropped it and turned her head I hid it and then threw it away at my first opportunity!!!

my oldest son has been through the allergy testing (so has my husband).

He also tested positive for dust mites and mold and they told us those were very common positives for lots of people.

we had a fund raiser for haiti today at work - a chili lunch.

it was so good. we raised almost $400 which is great since well over half the people couldn't be here because of a snowstorm.

i made a veggie chili and people loved it:

1 big can tomatoes (diced and drained)
1 can pinto beans (or kidney or whatever)
1 can black beans
1 can corn
1 can green chilies
3 tbsp mexican spices (I use spicy mesquite)

3 hours on high in crockpot.

yeah, the whole dust and mold stuff was no shocker to me. My issue is what to do with my cats. Allison would be so upset if we had to get rid of them.  It is that or I goon allergy shots.
