Ok!

We have an offer.

It's 11K under asking, they have to get financing, want all of our appliances (yay), etc.

We'll counter offer and hopefully we will find a happy medium.

keeping fingers crossed.

Good morning, girls.

It's freaking freezing here this morning - it's cold, but feels much worse since we've been enjoying unseasonable warm weather for a week.

I'm ridiculously bored. I have some stuff to do, but I don't want to do it, lol. I have a Tastefully Simple and Spiritwear party to go to tonight, and then some girlfriends are coming over for The Bachelor. I should straighten up, but all I can think about is how I should have swung into Kmart on my way home to buy a warmer, fuzzier blanket, lmao.

what is a spiritwear party? have not heard of that before.

It's school spirit stuff - sweatshirts, t's, bag, stadium seat cushions, etc. I haven't ever been to one, or seen anything they've done, so I'm excited - especially since I'm actually getting ready to have one in school. I just wish I knew for SURE where she was going, lol. Hopefully, I don't get a bunch of stuff for the wrong district, lmao.

Probably no one will find this entertaining, but this is life as chair of resident assistant recruitment and selection.

Over 15 applicants can't understand the line "uploaded documents must be .pdf of they will not be accepted.  If you cannot do this, the assistant at any computer lab on campus can help.".  15.  Can't read.

Approx 1/3  (1/3!) can't fill out every line.  Like, say....address.  Nope, too hard.

At least 8 applicants seem to think their student ID is 0.  Not the 7 digit number needed for EVERYTHING on this campus.  Nope.  0.

One applicant demanding I will give him an extension.  Good first impression sweety.  You've had since December to work on this.

One applicant who walked his documents to me.  Only our application was online.  Attached to his documents?  The step by step directions that explain the ONLINE process that I had emailed him not once...but twice.  This same idiot decided to mouth off AT his interview while waiting about what a waste this was and how he was sure he would get hired.  Um, nope.  Trust me...you are dead on arrival.

My favorite so far.  Dear XXXXXXX, your application does not contain your 7 digit student ID.  This is what is used for all your courses and all you on campus information.  Her Response:  Well, here is my ID.  I still don't see where I can enter it.   ----- Question 1 on application:  Please enter your student ID.

Honestly, if these are the peeps applying for a top leadership position and are the best we have to offer.... it isn't going to be pretty when they get to the real world.

I'm laughing, Jenn (with you not at you), lmao.

Mike's students are such idiots.

I'm very scared about raising the kids after knowing how useless this generation of college students seem to be at following directions/thinking for themselves, etc.

They are on a roll.

At least you can see the humor in it.  I truly hope that my ds is not going to be added to the number of college grads that can't do basic paperwork.  I do think he should be okay with it, but then again I might be sticking my head in the sand.  Honestly sometimes I look and him and wonder what he is thinking. lmao.gif  I hope you unearth some hidden gems.

Oh, and I promise this is the last for a little while.

One applicant upset with me because the application our committee created was not inclusive enough.

Under gender we offered:  male   female.  We need this info since some of our floors are single gender.

He considers himself neither and was disappointed we were not more inclusive in our documents.

Apples do not fall far from their tree, lol. I deal with parents like this. Everyone thinks rules do not apply to them.

Good morning!

Dh just took E to preschool.  I am going to jump in the shower and then go on my mad mission to find a Snow White dress.  Unfortunately the extreme use of the current dress has caused it to ravel on the hem.  I wanted to wait and buy a new one down there, but this one is getting worse by the day.  She only has today and tomorrow, but I am afraid it still won't make it.

I also need to get a key made today and start packing.  I really dislike packing.

Sonya I really hope you get good news on your house.

Sappy your day does sound busy, but I can understand liking it that way.  I seem to do better when I am busy.

Sara, I had terrible heartburn when I was pregnant.  I was so sick when I was pregnant with Elizabeth I could hardly eat.  ONLY time in my life I had that problem.  As miserable as it is, I think this is a good sign that baby is setting up shop in there.  I will keep you in my prayers.

Jen, crossing my fingers for your quota to be filled by noon.

i love your little snow white princess! does she love the movie as well?

interesting on the heartburn..good to know.

Elizabeth loves the Snow White movie.  She has also decided Dopey is a girl. lmao.gif  I think it's confusing to her because she thinks the dwarfs are wearing dresses.  I tried to explain that those are tunics and the dwarfs are men.  Dopey is still a girl.

Also, if you think you are having trouble with some acid, try drinking some milk or eating some ice cream.  Sometimes that will take care of it.

Do not be scared. I am pretty sure you are not the kind of parent that raises one of those kids. If parents would stop doing EVERY DANG thing for their child, protecting their butt when they do wrong, and let them feel failure for once in their dang life then

Oops, sorry. It all came out of me. I honestly am disgusted at parents these days and how kids just get everything they want, no work, and think they are going to turn out A-OK.

It is hard to sit and watch. I cannot even blame the kids. Well by college they need to own up to it, but here in Pre-K - 8, I cannot even fault them. They know no different.

lmao

I do NOT envy your job.

I think that parents of little kids right now are seeing the effects of what helicopter parenting on children just now turning into adults, and so I'm hoping that by the time Hannah is a little older that things are more straightened out, otherwise I fear how things will be in 20 years.

Lazy day here, the boys and I are still in PJs. I really should get us out of the house to do something, but that's too much energy.

Still battling this stupid rash or whatever it is. I had to dig up some info for the dermatologist I saw back in '96 when I was preggo with Kevin and had the same thing. They're supposed to call me back to let me know what treatment I received and what the rash was if they ever did find out...I can't remember.

Depending on that, then I'll call my OB here. Or I may just try to hold out until my appt next Tuesday.

We hit a few open houses this weekend on the NE side of town. Saw one that was reasonable and do-able, would need some cosmetic work but it was okay. There are some beautiful homes over there, but man are they pricey! I told Dom I'm going to start playing the lotto.

I called two of the elementary schools, too, so we'll be touring those tomorrow and Wednesday. And we'll also check out a couple of charter schools just to see.

Oh, interviewed a realtor on Saturday too. We need to interview another one this week and make a decision.

I really want to get moving on finding a house, but Dom seems content to stay here awhile. His sister lost her job, so at the moment we're being her crutch until she can figure out a plan moving forward. He feels like he needs to help her, which is understandable and I would feel the same way, but it's tough. We need our own place.

I keep trying to remind him that a newborn won't fit here, so hopefully we'll have our own place by June! Buying a house is stressful. (sigh)

hugs it is stressful!

the beauty of moving while pregnant means everyone does most for you. people put my boxes in the rooms i had labeled and it made it a breeze for me to just stay and unload things out of boxes.

i am glad your at least looking at some houses, i am sure you two will know the perfect one when you see it.
