Kids have decided to gang up on me and declare if we do not go buy Clementine oranges this very minute they may just starve to death. Not later. Not next time. Now. Critically urgent, now.
At least they are demanding fruit and not candy I guess.
Woke up to multiple emergency system messages that were sent out via text and email last night. Thank goodness I slept through it. Crazy, below is the latest. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A University of Maine student was stabbed three times early Saturday morning and was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center, where he is in stable condition, according to Dean of Students Robert Dana. A suspect, also a UMaine student, has been taken into custody.
The incident started as a fight outside the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity house when the student attempted to intervene and was stabbed. The assaulter fled the scene and was tracked by dogs, Dana said.
The sheriff’s office and Orono, Old Town and UMaine police responded to the incident. “They immediately had the situation in hand,” Dana said.
A text message alerting students of the assault was sent at approximately 4 a.m.
That's so scary.
Especially since he was tying to break up a fight, you never know who's carrying a weapon these days.
Well last night I was supposed to go to a seminar on organization at Kimberly's church but I was too sick to go.
Today my church is having a hymn-a-thon to raise money for the music department.
Henry has one sponsor but now he is saying that he doesn't want to go. I think he just doesn't understand what it is. If he'd just go check it out, he'd have fun. He loves singing hymns.
The adult choir and Henry's choir (2nd - 5th grade) can come anytime between noon and 4pm, and they'll be singing ALL the hymns in the hymnal throughout the day. There will be a gong so audience members can gong songs they don't like (for $5). No one has to stay the whole time.
This evening, my Sunday school class is having game night in the gym at church. We can also use the youth room which has a Wii with games and accessories. I'm not sure I'll be feeling like going to that.
Tomorrow church in the morning and possibly a movie in the evening. "Lovely Bones", maybe?
