GM. This isn't much of a weekend, nor is next. Today I juggle the boys while Travis teaches, and then keep them out of his hair so he can do homework. Tomorrow I have 8 hours of RA interviews to run.
Rinse and repeat next weekend, only RA interviews are both Saturday and Sunday.
Woke up to multiple emergency system messages that were sent out via text and email last night. Thank goodness I slept through it. Crazy, below is the latest. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A University of Maine student was stabbed three times early Saturday morning and was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center, where he is in stable condition, according to Dean of Students Robert Dana. A suspect, also a UMaine student, has been taken into custody.
The incident started as a fight outside the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity house when the student attempted to intervene and was stabbed. The assaulter fled the scene and was tracked by dogs, Dana said.
The sheriff’s office and Orono, Old Town and UMaine police responded to the incident. “They immediately had the situation in hand,” Dana said.
A text message alerting students of the assault was sent at approximately 4 a.m.
It is easy to forget sometimes that even though we are mild compared to city campuses, we still have 10,000 people here on any given day and a lot of alcohol on any given night which is bound to have scary stuff happen sometimes.
(I'm just super thankful I wasn't the on-call staff person last night. I am willing to bet they are pretty exhausted right now).

UMaine must be the same size as Dalhousie - 10K (Mike's U). Our campus is in the middle of the city so it has a much smaller residence life and most people either live at home or in the many many apartments surrounding the university.
This is such a college town with 7 universities/major campuses in a very small space.
I'm sure that stuff happens on campus but the city police end up with most of the calls.
Sonya--I hope the kids don't drive you batty today.
Jenn--I hope your weekend without a break sails by fast!
Anywho...Mark's last paycheck had 150 hours on it, so you can sense how little he's been here. So they make working today manditory. Nice. Ugh! Thank goodness my Dad offered to get Braydon to hockey this morning. Getting three kids to the rink by 7:40 is tough. Carter has already had a fit or two involving knocking his full cereal bowl off the table. How I love a mess in the morning.
I have a baby shower to attend this morning. How nice that I had to find a babysitter as DH will no longer be home. Again, Mom and Dad come through!!
Mark will probably want to take his snowmobile to get the shocks replaced this afternoon. We have our neighbor's Not-So-Surprise Birthday Party tonight.
Tomorrow we have hockey in the morning and then nothing until the Vikes play tomorrow night!
I am kind of embarassed to say that I am hoping beyond hope that my dh will find time to get the boxes down from the garage "loft" so that I can put Christmas away, including the tree.
I also am going shopping but it's not for anything exciting. None the less, it is solo so it will be a nice break.
Sonya that bread sounds yummy! Maybe you can bribe your kiddos with it?
Jenn, I hope the weekend goes smoothly for you.
Stacy that is a hard schedule you have. I am glad your parents are able to help out.
