Today I start taking Kaylin's egg and wheat allergy more seriously. Her tummy is getting bad again. Starting tomorrow, it's out of her diet. Wish me luck as this is no easy task. I'm going to Whole Foods this afternoon so they can help me get started. I know I need to do this for my baby girl, but oh it will be so hard to have to say no to so many things everyone else is eating.
I did not realize she had a egg and wheat allergy. :(
Keegan has the milk and egg. It is just getting to the point where it is getting tough as he is wanting some things we want. He is getting retested again in July. If his skin test come back positive then they are going to do a blood test to see how severe his allergy is.
Yes, our dr initially thought Celiac, which thank goodness it wasn't. Her symptoms were 5-6 loose stools daily and nearly constant stomach aches.
Her blood work came back at 1.8 for eggs and 1.4 for wheat. .3 and under is normal. So her allergies aren't off the charts, but enough that they make her uncomfortable.
I'd been doing ok withe the egg, but I'd feel bad and let her have pizza or this or that and now her stools are getting loose and her pains are back. Time to get serious. Hopefully if I'm diligent for a couple of years, she'll grow out of it!
gotcha. I had no idea how the blood test worked as far as the scale as Keegan had the skin test done back in July 08. And we decided to hold off on blood.
Wheat is tough!!! Luckily he can have wheat and soy things.
oh my gosh, i would not do well with the dog crap either.
i am thankful for one child watching yo gabba gabba and the other playing super mario brothers on the wii...moty please!
i am thankful for my husband who has been helping so much and is going to take over the vacuuming and he has been hauling laundry up and down the stairs for me. that one was mushy but for john this is huge.
Yesterday was the biggest clusterf**k of a day I've had in a looooong time.
1. My Advanced A & P class (which I thought started yesterday), actually started last Friday. Whoops.
2. My first meeting with my teacher (after apologizing for 5 min for missing class, and thanking him for not dropping me), involved me having to ask for massive accomodations. I am also taking a nursing asst. course, which has clinicals that last all day for 2 weeks. Those weeks, we take tests, and I would have to reschedule them. He was pissed. I met with him and another teacher to work something out, but noone was happy. They even had me go check with registration to see how much money I would lose if I dropped the CNA class (I would only get back 40%, which is not much).
3. The CNA teacher made me feel like an irresponsible piece of crap because I hadn't made accomodations for clinicals when I asked if I could do them the following week.
4. Went to the dr to have my TB test read (which is required to participate in above mentioned clinicals in 2 weeks). The nurse, who was visibily scared to talk to me, explained that my TB test was invalid, but that she would gladly retest me in 4 weeks. Turns out the H1N1 vaccine (also required for the clinical) that I received that day nulls a TB test for 4 weeks. Of course it does.
5. Back to school, talked to prof #1 (A & P), so now I am officially the demanding flake. Fabulous. Dropped the CNA class, and am in the process of appealing to get my money back.
ugh i know you said just fun things, but I am very thankful for my family.
Today I had to go give blood to find out if I have nutrient deficiencys they were supposed to take 18 vials. 11 down and I got lightheaded. I apparently passed out for about 2 minutes and stopped breathing for a short period of time.
I didnt even notice i had passed out but it does make you think hey i could be doing something that is nbd and things could be over. For me or someone in my family.
I'm thankful Travis has gone back to the office to save my butt on a project that is my responsibility and has completely fallen apart. Badly. Epic bad. He is fixing the messed up database because I sdon't know how to do that part.
Then we will switch and I will go in a re-organize everything so that when my boss and her admin come in tomorrow it will look like someone waived a magic wand and fixed everything.
I love my husband.
and dunkin donuts coffee for which I will be consuming large quantities this evening.
