Kate is insisting on doing things herself more often.
putting her coat on. Great. But she always puts it on upside down.
buckling her carseat.
seriously - she's so different from my boys. Jake would have NEVER really buckled himself at 2 years old. Heck I still have to help him with the lower part.
she *tries* to buckle herself. She cannot do it. She does not know this. She would just as soon have us sit 1 hour in place while she tried to accomplish it than to have help.
it's driving me a bit batty.
I have to trick her and make her think she did it and then cheer for her otherwise she would melt all over the place into hysterics.
oh my gosh, i would not do well with the dog crap either.
i am thankful for one child watching yo gabba gabba and the other playing super mario brothers on the wii...moty please!
i am thankful for my husband who has been helping so much and is going to take over the vacuuming and he has been hauling laundry up and down the stairs for me. that one was mushy but for john this is huge.
we have a doberman. She stays in the garage. We let her in once in awhile to hang out but not really that often - she's an outside dog.
Last week DS1 had a 2 hour delay.
When we all got home at the end of the day John took Kate back to the bathroom b/w her room and our room. Put a bandaide on her or something.
20 minutes later I take the same route he took earlier to change her diaper. I get down the hall, into her room, flip the light on, change her diaper, turn to leave.
In that hallway DH and Kate had walked 20 minutes earlier and the one I just walked seconds earlier are 3 HUGE dog turds.
First my thought is what the heck are those???
Second my thought is why did my husband not say anything about them 20 minutes earlier? You could.not.miss.them.
Yet we both did. We missed them figuratively and literally. How did we not step in them??? It was a miracle - the were stretched across the width of the hall - just begging to be stepped in.
Apparently Mr. 2 hour delay let the dog in without letting her outside first. She NEVER goes back down that hall or into Kate's room. Never. She must have really had to go.
I am thankful today is Thursday because that means I am one day closer to my big night out with hubby. Can you tell I am excited :) We have never been alone without kids overnight. I think this is long overdue. Wait, that is a lie. Allie did sleep at her Nana's once before Mia was born.
I am thankful for my Keurig :) I never knew true love till I met it,lol. I love my expresso k-cup.
I am thankful for the sun today that has decided to grace us with her presence. It was so beautiful this morning driving into work. I work on Lake St. Clair and it was a bright orange/red sunrise.
I am thankful for Mia's cheesy smile that greeted me this morning.
I am thankful for preschool. That blessed, perfect, 3 hour span that comes 3x a week where I can sit on the couch (or play on the computer, or watch TV, etc) and not feel like the worst mom ever.
I'm also thankful for wine, which got me through yesterday.
Yesterday was the biggest clusterf**k of a day I've had in a looooong time.
1. My Advanced A & P class (which I thought started yesterday), actually started last Friday. Whoops.
2. My first meeting with my teacher (after apologizing for 5 min for missing class, and thanking him for not dropping me), involved me having to ask for massive accomodations. I am also taking a nursing asst. course, which has clinicals that last all day for 2 weeks. Those weeks, we take tests, and I would have to reschedule them. He was pissed. I met with him and another teacher to work something out, but noone was happy. They even had me go check with registration to see how much money I would lose if I dropped the CNA class (I would only get back 40%, which is not much).
3. The CNA teacher made me feel like an irresponsible piece of crap because I hadn't made accomodations for clinicals when I asked if I could do them the following week.
4. Went to the dr to have my TB test read (which is required to participate in above mentioned clinicals in 2 weeks). The nurse, who was visibily scared to talk to me, explained that my TB test was invalid, but that she would gladly retest me in 4 weeks. Turns out the H1N1 vaccine (also required for the clinical) that I received that day nulls a TB test for 4 weeks. Of course it does.
5. Back to school, talked to prof #1 (A & P), so now I am officially the demanding flake. Fabulous. Dropped the CNA class, and am in the process of appealing to get my money back.
Today I start taking Kaylin's egg and wheat allergy more seriously. Her tummy is getting bad again. Starting tomorrow, it's out of her diet. Wish me luck as this is no easy task. I'm going to Whole Foods this afternoon so they can help me get started. I know I need to do this for my baby girl, but oh it will be so hard to have to say no to so many things everyone else is eating.

I did not realize she had a egg and wheat allergy. :(
Keegan has the milk and egg. It is just getting to the point where it is getting tough as he is wanting some things we want. He is getting retested again in July. If his skin test come back positive then they are going to do a blood test to see how severe his allergy is.

Yes, our dr initially thought Celiac, which thank goodness it wasn't. Her symptoms were 5-6 loose stools daily and nearly constant stomach aches.
Her blood work came back at 1.8 for eggs and 1.4 for wheat. .3 and under is normal. So her allergies aren't off the charts, but enough that they make her uncomfortable.
I'd been doing ok withe the egg, but I'd feel bad and let her have pizza or this or that and now her stools are getting loose and her pains are back. Time to get serious. Hopefully if I'm diligent for a couple of years, she'll grow out of it!
