Kate's BFF's mom (and my friend), Jen, just had their third child on 12/20. She had had some complications after Avery's birth, but were hoping this time would go a bit smoother.
Well, things have gone worse. Jen had trouble with bleeding-like she did the last time. She went in this weekend for a d&c, which took care of everything the last time, and she expected it to be routine. They used this balloon that they inflated in her uterus (not exactly sure what that was for-her hubby told us this morning at drop off, but he was anxious to get back home to she and the baby), and as it turns out, the balloon ruptured her uterus and ended up in her abdominal cavity. She was hemorrhaging, and ended up having an emergency hysterectomy.
She is home and recovering, but this has been a huge ordeal for her and her family. She wasn't feeling well as it was (she had had her first c/s because the baby was breech)-they really didn't need this as well. On top of that, while she was in the hospital, her husband's grandfather passed away, so they have that grief as well. Thankfully, they had already discussed it and were settled that this was going to be their last baby regardless.
Any prayers you can offer for a quick recovery for her would be appreciated.
OMG, how scary! This freaks me out because I had a hard time after Owen and this is my fear in having a third! Many prayers to her that she will recover quickly and without too much pain.

She was really afraid of it too, tbh. As her date approached, she got more and more nervous about it. When she told me about her previous delivery, I had hoped it was a unique thing (I think not all of the placenta came out).
But again, she ended up having a c/s this time around, which I can imagine played a role. I feel just awful for her! Her DH is amazing though-seriously, he is the best husband. Thankfully he works from home too-so he is very flexible and can be at home.
Thank you for prayers, ladies-I know Jen would appreciate it very much.
