So, as you know i have an Etsy shop set up. I was listing a couple more things this morning and was looking through those listings and the stuff I have on Ravelry and realized that I tend to stay real close to neutral colors...lots of natural/off white/ecru type colors. If I do use an actual color its usuall something dark....other than baby blankets of white I've done a couple blue or pink ones, but generally even those are white/off white.
I'm so bad about choosing colors to work with because I personally don't tend to like a lot of color, so i end up using colors that are pleasing to me. Also black is very hard for me to work with and BRIGHT colors give me headaches.
So my question is, what are some good colors that would fit into other people's decor? Something that's not so neutral.
I think browns would be another neutral option. Another option are greens, especially those that are more earth toned. Many people use greens with another color. Check out pottery barn and see what the popular colors are on there too.

Thanks...I'll check PB online and see what all they have.
Ya know, I'm the same way when I shop for clothes....I'm so BAD at it. I look at the mannequins (who are half my size LOL) and if i like what the mannequin is wearing then I buy it for myself

i use TONS of greens, from olives to sage. i adore greens. i also use a lot of gold as accents. i have a gold throw which i love over my dark brown leather chairs, and i have some olive pillows with it as well.
i tend to not go for blues for whatever reason. i love blue for clothing, but not for the home. if i was going to go with a blue, i'd do a cobalt rather than a navy.
i quoted libby bc i agree on looking through the PB catalog. i just got one today and the colors are very refreshing.

I'm no help b/c i love off whites and whites and black/white...but if i had to choose, i guess, red or green/olive would be a good color.
Every room is different. I use golden yellow, green and a burnt red in my living room. Chocolate brown and ice blue color in my room, so I use brown throws up there.
Chocolate brown and ice blue, like Melissa mentioned, are popular around here. (That's what I have in my living room, too.) Sagey greens are the new neutral around these parts, too.
The top half of the wall is this wonderful sand color. The bottom half and an accent wall are rum raisin red. AWESOME. Colin's room will be mural-ed. He wants the Bering Sea and some crab fishing vessels done on his walls.....
Our room has yet to be determined. We're more greens and light purples- soothing colors. Sometimes neutrals. I can't stand sterile white. I like soft color versus the in your face color. Right now we're in a pinch b/c our comforter is brown, tan, off white, and blue and one wall is our bedroom is this green wallpaper and the doors are green to the bathroom.............Oops. LOL
