Good Morning!

I am planning on having a better week smile Dan and I actually sat down together last night (on our swingin saturday night wink) and worked out a discipline plan for the kids and a parenting plan for ourselves. It's basic but I am thrilled that we actually talked about it and decided on something together.

Now we just have to put it into practice. Pray for me on that one because it involves discipline without emotion.

Other than that we have a relatively light week this week. The kids are off school Monday and Tuesday so that's 2 less days of driving. Three appointments - OT, therapy and blood counts - so that's kind of light also.

well, today, emily has her first birthday part for a friend at school. i'm sooo excited for her b/c she's SO excited!!!!

tomorrow, we're all off of work/school, and our cleaners are coming around 9. i'm thinking maybe we'll take the kids to breakfast at the diner. yum!

i'm actually happy to have a slow couponing week this week. last week was crazy with many trips to many stores, so i'm happy to not have that hanging over my head this week.

i'm busy thinking about what to do for birthday parties this year. I have a dilema.

there are 27 kids in charlie's class (4 teachers) and 18 in Josie's. their birthdays are 1 day apart and charlie REALLY wants a party this year with his friends.

i have to invite all of them if I invite one i have to invite all (because they all talk all the time about who's going to which birthday party)

what the heck can i do with potentially 45 kids?

thankfully the birthdays are on a long weekend in the middle of summer so that should cut a good half out.

I forgot we're starting weekly library trips. We're planning to go on Saturdays going forward but we're going today to get things started. The whole family. Caroline is really excited about going to the library.

 *so jealous*

my mother would NEVER take all our kids for the night. she won't even babysit so we can go out - because she babysits for therapies, etc... she has hit her max i guess.

That sounds great. Maybe I should take the kids today while Mike works.

two kids is very different than 4.

my aunt always has one or two or more of my cousins 5 kids and my mom feels like she needs to compete with her sister. lol. We actually have not done it before (except when we went to San Francisco) but they both really enjoyed it so we may do it more.

Mike cries the whole time that he misses them so it takes some of the joy out of it. lmao.

This week- I have a lot of work to do on one of my biggest work projects that the floor fell out from while I was out with the stomach flu.  I also need to find babysitters for the two days a week that Travis and my schedule overlap.  I've had no luck.  How is that even possible when I live right on campus?

I also need to re-do our budget.  I get neurotic about it every couple of months, and feel compelled to scrap it and start over just to be sure we are on track.  I may actually do that today.

Though it feels early, I'm trying to figure out which activities to enroll Koda in for spring/summer.  I missed a couple deadlines last year- because who knew you had to enroll by March for a summer rec soccer program?

I wish there was a comprehensive handbook on kids stuff in the area with these crazy deadlines.  Unless you are in the know...you are WAY out of the know.

Ok, so for the activities.

Rec soccer in the larger town and T ball in our tiny town happen at the same time but on different nights.  I don't want him to do both or we will have a game or practice 6 days a week and that is too much, imo.

Travis thinks soccer.  I kind of think he would like T ball.  So, we are stuck.  We have 8 weeks to decide before the first deadline passes.  The good thing with soccer is he would be doing a lot more running to get energy out.

I think he might start 4H in the fall.  We will also have both boys in swim lessons through the town pool, it is so cheap I can't not do it.

I wish the YMCA wasn't so dang expensive.  I like the look of a lot of their programs, but can't justify the costs.

Morning!

No school tomorrow but I don't really have an alternate plan for the day.

I work on Wednesday to make up for the holiday tomorrow.

Henry got a birthday party invitation to a skating party.

He doesn't know how to skate so I'm planning to take him to the skating rink one day right after school (so it won't be crowded) to let him learn.

He was okay with that plan.

Our YMCA is expensive also AND there isn't one in my town; I'd have to drive at least 30 minutes to get to the closest one--and it's not that great.

The best one is a good 45 minutes to an hour away.

Imo, soccer is WAY more fun for the kids and the parents. T-ball involves a lot of standing around and doing nothing.

Henry asked if we could go to Sunday school today and then come home instead of staying for church.

I told him okay but only because my throat hurts.

Speaking of Sunday school, it's time for us to go.

Later!
