So... everyone else probably knows this and i'm not sure why it didn't dawn on me but i'm going after work to get some probiotics for Hannah. I was out with some friends last night and one of them asked me if Hannah was on probiotics since she's been on antibiotics so much. This is the 3rd time since the beginning of November and she's been sick pretty much nonstop. I can't believe my pedi didn't suggest it to me?

Sonya, Rocketship Run came in! So i'll be mailing soon, probably Wednesday because unfortunately i'm stuck at work today, tomorrow, Monday, and Tuesday which messes up my going to the PO. I've never really listened to Laurie Berkner but i've heard really good things. Might need to get some of her cd's for the kids.

Ugh to all with sick kids. It stinks.

Amber, I hope the probiotics help Hannah. It is awful when they are sick so often. She was at home before she started school, right? My friend went though an absolutely awful time when her kids started school - one really bad year of colds and strep, etc. After that, she said it seemed to even out.

That's great, Amber. We really love her. We have Rocketship run (i'm giving this one as a gift). The songs are really catchy and don't drive me crazy when we listen in the car.

If i can get my self together, I'll mail your ants today.

GM.  I don't have retro on my work computer, but this makes me want to find an album when I get home.

I am back at work!  After over three days of stomach flu hell.

And famished.  Like cannot stuff enough food in my mouth famished.

Considering I lost almost 6 pounds, I guess I get it.

I am selfishly hoping I can maintain my loss from the MSBL- healthy loss of not.

That means I can gain two pounds this week and STILL have lost over 4 from two weeks ago.

I earned that 4 pound loss.  Trust me, lol.

wow Jenn. That sounds horrible :( did it go through the whole fam? I'm so glad your feeling better. My kiddo's had it last week and that was plenty for me. We actually had a pretty mild version. Hannah subsequently got bronchitis but the stomach flu part of it they recovered from pretty easily.

So every year during my work evaluations since I have entered this profession I have been told

"You need to delegate more"
"You need to trust your colleaques to do the job they also have been trained for"
"You don't need to take on the whole project yourself"

It is always the only negative or constructive feedback I really get (except being told once I was a workaholic and too competitive...clearly that boss was not cyber stalking my work hours internet useage).

I've been out three days.
Really closer to 2.5
While I've been out I've see one of my biggest projects falter for lack of people chipping in, and I've had blame pointed my way for something so not my fault but it was convenient since I wasn't here to correct their misinformation (or their own ass covering I should say).  Several REALLY simple things that did not need me have been left hanging because my staff "didn't know what to do".  Which is bull.  What they didn't have is me sitting here to say to them "what do you think you should do?... Yes, that is it.  Now, do it".

We should really go back to the question of why we like our jobs.

Whew.  Vent over.

She was in preschool Sonya. She had been doing really well sickness wise. Since she had h1n1 at the end of October it's been a fight. This is the second time she's had bronchitis since then and either her 3rd or 4th time with antibiotics. So i'm hoping the probiotics will help her immune system maybe. I don't know. I also got her a multivitamin. She definitely doesn't eat enough veggies so if nothing else it will help her nutrition.

Boo to all of that. It's easy for people to be all talk and not back it up when they need to. Sorry Jenn.

The boys had it over winter break and it lingered forever but was never severe.  Mine was three intense days but I feel so so so much better today.  We are all hoping Travis avoids it.  Sounds terrible, but I have sick time, as a grad student he does not, and it would be murder on our schedule if Travis got that sick.  (we'd figure it out, but yeah, it would be rough).

Jenn, I am glad you are on the mend.

Stacey, sorry Carter is sick as well. Hope he gets to feeling better.

Amber, good idea about the probotics!

Loving these retro pics!!

Keegan's tooth #6 is super close so I do not know if it is just teething related or if he is trying to come down with something. I put him in his crib 20 min ago for a morning nap and he is still rolling around talking so I am guessing morning nap might be out. I will give him until 10 if he is not fussing if not have to get him so he will take an afternoon nap.

Work pet pieve number 1 bagillion and 1.

You know the answer is no.  It isn't even close to a maybe.  It has never been a maybe.  It is a super clear cut policy.

"Well, I can't say yes.  Why don't you email Jenn XXXXXXXXXX  and see if she can do anything".

Right, because you are too weak to just say NO.  Let me be the biatch after you've given them a sliver of non-existent hope.  Because that helps deliver news way better.

Honestly.  Can I never be out sick again.

No more Debby Downer.  Jolly Jenn post coming up.

I listened to Love Song while sick this week.  It's by Nicholas Sparks.  If you love his stuff and haven't read it, it is fabulous.  I actually recommend the audio version.  It was good.

Typically cried like a baby.

Love him.

tracy, I gave up coffee because I used to drink one a day. It would make my heart race for about 30 mins after. I still drank it but only one a day. On this trip, I missed one morning coffee (the morning of the picture) and had the worst headache. I decided to see if stopping would help and switched to tea.

I stopped for 13 years.

Then, two kids later, Mike told me I was acting like a giant bitch in the morning and maybe I should try coffee again. lmao. It somewhat helped but now I am totally addicted again.

I really should stop again since my mom is so super caffeine sensitive that she can't even have chocolate or decaf coffee/tea. I'm having some trouble sleeping at night so I know the solution is to cut the coffee again. BUT I DON'T WANT TO!
