It's been going ok here. well, routine is not exactly set as I've been out to the house two days and I had to be here yesterday so the electrician could come. thankfully, yesterday, I got to work a full day - they didn't have to turn the power off until 4:30 - though that did make our evening chaotic. They were here until 8:30 and we had to order takeout and eat in the candle lit living room.

the kids are doing well though I can see they are very tired now. Charlie burst into tears two nights ago at bed time because he was sad. I think they are just exhausted with the back to school stuff.

I have two of my neighbor's kids here this morning because their sister is getting tubes so my day got off to an early start. The first week back has been just fine actually. Although Mark left Monday and was supposed to come home Friday, but now that's not looking so good. So it could be a long weekend.

I found a guy who will fix my old iMac for $100 so I want to get that in today. Then the kids can have their own working computer and leave mine alone.

I'd better go and get this day started.

routine is fine but we really didn't get off of it much during the break other than bryce being home.

Heya ladies.

This week has been okay. It's hard getting back in the swing of things.

I kept Hannah home from school (and I'm working from home) because we're getting a big snow. It wasn't enough accumulation for them to cancel school this morning but it's been coming down all morning and is going to be at it's peak at noon to two. I leave work to go pick her up during that time, so we're just playing it safe today, because it's a 35 minute drive in good weather, and since it's not a complete necessity for her to go in, we're cuddled up and going to watch it from the safety of the house.

this week has gone exceptionally well. Dh is no longer the only one who could be in charge like he was during holiday hours so it seems he might get home early every other night. Which would be fantastic.

Ive also got raym going to bed within 30 minutes of me puting him down so no more hours of screaming at least. I just have no clue how to get scott to bed and Raym to bed since they share a room. I think its time to get scott to sleep on his own.

and dh got word funding for his trip may be cut and he might not have to go either. This would be such an answer to prayer for me.

I'm jealous of all the snow days. We are forecasted to get about 12 inches today, and both girls still have school. It's nuts! These Wisconsin peeps are hardcore about winter, lol!

I don't think I'm going to be taking Juliette, though. My 640 mile long winding driveway hasn't been plowed/shoveled/cleaned in anyway, so I'm pretty sure my van would run off the road before I even left the property. We are hunkering down, with a copy of "Cloudy with a Change of Meatballs" today. George is also home, so I'm hoping for a nice, calm, family day.

You will soon be crushed by a giant corn.

So far, routine is fine. I'm not back in school until the 18th, so I've been home everyday. It's been great. Dani is doing good; she started her advanced work this week. Basically, she gets a seperate spelling/reading list from the rest of the class, but isn't actually leaving the class. She also is writing for the school paper, which they let her work on during lessons (a huge improvement over her crawling on the floor and fidgeting at her desk for 45 minutes).

I love her new school. She was telling me this morning about their guidance class; once a week, the guidance counselor meets with the class to discuss a different topic (one week was learning disabilities, where they each had to decipher a "dyslexic" paragraph), and where they can all openly discuss things like bullying. It's an awesome class.

Considering the horrible issues we've had with bullying at her old schools, this is a dream. I think it's awesome that they spend such a significant time each week talking about these issues. And not just bullying, but they also talk about how to handle stress from school, fighting with friends or family, and have an open floor time where kids can present topics they want to talk about.

Given the issues young kids face with drugs and sex, I think heading it off both at home and school is the key. We've already talked at length with Dani about drugs, peer pressure, etc. It's nice to be getting that back up at school.
