Yesterday was our anniversary and it turned out pretty nice. Dh and I spent the most time alone in years. It was nice and I now have a new cell phone instead of the cheapo replacement I had been using. It's not an I phone, but I like it. It has a 5 mega pixel camera/w flash. I am just thrilled to have picture capability again.
D- I hope Cole is feeling better
Sara- I hope your move goes smoothly despite this nasty cold streak.
happy anniversary!!! it seems like lots of us have Christmas?/NY anniversaries <3
also, how is E doing?
we have Cole's next IEP next week, and I'm really feeling blah about it all.
Thank you! I hope yours was happy too.
E is doing better, but I think we have a ways to go. I talked to her therapists and they thought that it would be a good idea to have her in preschool 5 mornings a week, so that's what we are doing. I am really starting to see improvements, but it is also making some of her difficulties more obvious to me. She is talking more about things that happen, but I have noticed that she expresses things in a kind of odd way. Not necessarily "wrong" but odd. For example she instead of saying to her friend "you are stepping on my foot!" She said, "I am hurting!" It's this speech processing that makes me really think she needs to do some major maturing and why I am most likely waiting another year for kindergarten. Sorry, that's way more than you probably wanted to know.
I hope Cole's IEP goes well. Do you think they have had adequate time to make some progress? If you don't like what's going on tell them what you want in the IEP. I am happy to share with you strategies and approaches I used and put in IEP's if you want them. Either way, know that I am thinking of you and hoping for good things.
Braydon and Kaylin are back to school today. The non-rushing mornings were so nice!!
Mark is out of town for the whole week. Ugh!!
Tomorrow my SIL is taking the kids so I can do some running around. I have a yearbook meeting at 2. Somehow I'm co-chair.
Thursday I have my neighbor's kids. Friday I have to watch twin boys and my nieces.
I also have to get my D40 in this week. The flash wasn't working, so I found out how to fix that, but in the process now the flash won't pop up so it smokes if I take a picture. Frustrating!!
Sara-Hope all goes well with Mikey's appointments and your move!
I am in a funk today. Turning 35 did not make me feel cheery for some reason. That combined with returning to work today. I really miss being with the girls. It was a nice relaxing vacation with them. It is the first time we did not have to really travel during the two weeks.
Starting my healthy living/eating today. Trying not to call it a diet or think of it as dieting. I am just adding movement and good food to my life.
Nothing planned this week really. Dance for Allie today after school. That is the only real thing that is scheduled. I need to make an apt for the allergist for me. I am suffering so bad and they have not gone away.
Don’t fall off of your chairs, I am posting! :giggle
We started back to our routine this morning and were promptly late. UGH! So so hard to get everyone going. And, um yeah, we only had a three day weekend to be out of our routine. :bag
Plans for this week? De-christmas the house, get back into healthy cooking and eating, work, etc. So, nothing thrilling at all.
Oh, it is my wedding anniversary today. Not sure if my hubby even remembers that. Sigh!
girls back to school today, sending kenneth to work tomorrow (woo-hoo!!) and it's the coldest week here in a looooonnngggg time. supposed to be in the teens by the weekend
brrrrr
Sent Ray back to work today after being home for 2 weeks(time off and vacation). It is so much easier without him. It's like going from 2 kids to 3 when he is around.
Stephen went back today and Raven tomorrow. She is so excited. She is asking me to pick her up from school instead of riding the bus. I wonder how long that will last? I want to pick her up all the time.
i'm still waiting for a call back from GI to schedule cole's
the food therapy is ... it's good while we're there but quite honestly i am not doing as much home work as i should be doing. it is WORK and between all the kids, the move & the craziness ...
so yay! mikey didn't need blood or platelets. AND his white count isn't high (it's actually pretty low). i was a little worried but those are the exact places his counts should be based on his treatment. yay!
also, the dr told us that as of now his treatment is scheduled to end 06/01/10.
five more months. everyone PLEASE pray he stays cancer free forever!
today i am taking mikey to get blood counts checked (probably needs blood and/or platelets). he also has a speech/feeding therapy appointment at 2:00 at the same hospital so i'm hoping i can squeeze that one in.
tomorrow jake has an ortho appt. wednesday caroline has two appointments and jake has one. thursday i have something? (can't remember) friday we take possession of the new townhouse and saturday we're scheduled to move in. (it's supposed to be a high of 9 degrees on saturday - stupid chicago winter)
We start back into our new routine tomorrow. E starts preschool five mornings a week instead of three now. Today I think we are going to stay in. I don't like going out when it's cold. The rest of the week I need to do exciting things like grocery shopping.

We also have been talking more about our disney world trip. I am getting so excited, but boy there is so much to think about even though we were in Disneyland in April. This time we are going longer and of course, it's in Florida.
D- I hope Cole is feeling better
Sara- I hope your move goes smoothly despite this nasty cold streak.
Happy (day late) Anniversary!! Glad you two got some time together.
