girls. I am going to need the force to be with me. I am starting my "new" me this week and AF is coming. I feel like I may go off on someone at any given time :)
How does everyone get through that time of the month. I want to just curl up with a blanket and eat. It does not help how cold it is here. I have an excuse for everything, lol.
I am getting AF this week too and the day before I just want to stuff my face.
Since I'm not drinking, and basically not eating for the next 8 weeks I'm going to a) clean and organize my house like crazy and b) watch a ton of movies, read a lot, sleep a lot and take daily walks.
I know it's so hard when the weather stinks.

you know, this just might be your last hellacious AF.
seriously!
i have almost NO pms symptoms or cramps when i am watching my diet.
i find things like caffeine, chocolate, sugar, fatty foods like fries - they are what makes me feel so yucky, and when i have those in limited quantities my periods are MUCH better!

sorry to chime in here, but i think i told you guys i'm trying this PMS diet and all the research supports what megan said here. i am so excited to try it - its such a catch 22..if youre PMSy then you want that food, but that very food makes you PMSy. i am PRAYING for results this month!!
Ladies that are too embarassed to post pics....I feel you! I felt that way at the beginning of MSBL. I never fully got over it, but it really did motivate me to see the before and after pics.
As for the weight pics...I need them. WHen I started skipping weigh ins was when I lost all control. I have now been stuck for over a year and am 10lbs over my lowest weight
The support is so great in this group. I was on the higher end with the weight in the group in the beginning and nobody ever made me feel bad in any way. I thought having others see my weight that were much less would make me feel awful, but it didn't.
Damon has the new folder up. It's in the Health and Fitness section. It's private... AND folks that aren't premium, you won't need to upgrade your membership to access it. (Ever. :) )
Sonya, I hope you don't mind but I had him put in the description that if people are interested in joining, they PM you. (If that's not ok, LMK, and I'll have him change it. :) )
I'm going to start a roll call thread in the new folder, just so I know that no one has access problems.
What a great week for us all. We are all pms'ing. I do hope that can stick to my guns.
Kelly. Let me know how this diet works? What do you eliminate & when?
Good luck to us all. May the force be with us and our ass to leave us :)
we'll see how i do. i'm not used to diets at all. i'm just "cutting back" on the "bad stuff" for this month (this month will be hard to tell since i'm also going off the pill and i'm expecting to be pretty out of whack) - i think in the next 2 months i'll be able to get used to the diet (which is only 2 weeks out of the month for what i'm choosing to do), and i'll be regulated no-pill-wise too.
i'm eliminating a lot of caff (not all, but most), alcohol, red meat, most animal proteins (i'll prob eat a bit of chicken though), cutting down on carbs and sugars. no idea what that leaves me to eat, but i'll figure it out. you're supposed to get serious about the diet in the last 2 weeks of the cycle (day 14-28) - i'm on day 14 now. yesterday i should have cut back but i ate like crap as usual. today i'm serious. i need to get this PMDD thing under control.
i'll keep you all posted. GOOD LUCK YOU GUYS!!! i'd love to see if you guys feel decreases in PMS symptoms with watching your intake also.

kelly - interesting!
and funny enough, each year as i "go down into" my week long water fast, the 2 weeks prior i give up all that too - starting with caffeine and alcohol, sugar, red meats, all meats, dairy, carbs, then only raw fruit and veg a few days before the fast starts.
there still is plenty of stuff you can eat! might i suggest instead of giving up all carbs, still have some brown rice or wheat pasta - don't deprive yourself or its easier to fall off the wagon.
also, gwyneth paltrow had her chef create a week long detox which i really enjoyed - i still make the teriyake chicken breasts all the time! and i love the smoothies - i use rice milk (which is flavourless pretty much) and my fave is fresh red berries and peaches - whatever i have around. i get vanilla whey based protein powder at any vitamin shop - and i think it is important to add that protein in! (tho while preggo i substitute the protein for a small spoon of natural yoghurt or even a bit of berry sorbet or ice cream OOPS!)
i also love homemade veggie soup - whats great about that is a can make a pot and then freeze the leftovers in individual servings in ziploc bags.
gwenyths detox has a delish broccoli arugula soup - yum!

Are you taking any sort of fish oil or CLA? I'm taking both, and it's done wonders for my symptoms.

i had been on fish oil for my eyes a while back. i just started it up again. i'm hoping it might help. what's CLA?
It's a form of linoleic acid... although now that I think about it, the CLA is more for weight loss.
I think it's the fish oil that's supposed to be helping the PMS stuff; for you... what about Evening Primrose Oil? (It has CLA in it; it may or may not be redundant with the fish oil, I'm not certain)
