we invited friends over and bert is making his famous swiss cheese fondue...

he makes it "moitie-moitie" style which is half good swiss gruyere, half swiss vacherin.  of course with the garlic, wine etc. added in.

plus, he boils baby potatoes - so yummy dipped in cheese!

YUMMY!!!!

dessert is tarte tatin.

i am so going to have heartburn tonight.

and i will probably head up to bed around 10 while everyone else rings in the new year LOL.

I have a popcorn and Willy Wonka date with Jake heart.gif

I'm sure we will play Wii if nobody is throwing up (Kate started at 1:30 this morning but it seems to have passed.)  Everyone is gone and I'm trying to disinfect before they get home and hopefully it will not go any further!!

I doubt anyone will make it to Midnight in my house.

Assuming Hannah stops screaming at some point today, we're going to my sister's for my niece's engagement party. Hannah's going to my MILs, so that Joe and I can kick back a little - we'll probably play a lot of cards, beer pong and Partini. And I need to pick up The Hangover from Redbox on the way... I think Joe and I are the only people that haven't seen it yet, lol. We'll eat appetizers for dinner and just hang.

I'm ready to freaking drink. My mood is SUPER sour, I'm very cranky, and it's just not a good day. Joe's been killing it in the drink mixing area lately, so I'm excited.

My cousin is in town from NY, so we are heading over to my other cousin's house for a family party. It is low key and they play cards, wii, drink and eat. I will just bring the girls jammies and they can stay up till they cannot take it no more. I am not sure how long we will stay.

If we were staying home it would just be junk food heaven, fondu, movie and that is it.

We are going to my neighbor's house right across the street. She has a big NYE party every year - kids and all. This year her husband invited pretty much the entire town, so it should be tons of fun (although I am not quite sure how she is going to fit all these people in her house, lol). We are all looking forward to it!

We haven't seen Hangover yet either and it's out at my Redbox.  I bought Partini for like 5 bucks this summer but haven't broken it out yet.  Fun?

This won't help you now, but in the future, dyk you can rent redbox movies online, and they hold them for about 24 hours? I rented The Hangover yesterday afternoon, and they are holding it until 9 pm. People always get SO pissed at us when we get movies that are oos from there, lol.

But Partini is crazy fun... My family (sister, BILs, joe, some GFs, my nieces, etc.)  get REALLY into it, which makes it even better. Especially with a glass or two of wine. We've actually had people pee their pants at the table from laughing so hard, lol.  Several times.

:crickets:

Yup-that's right.

No plans.

None.

Zero.

Zilch.

We're boring.

Oh wait!!!!! We do have ONE thing to do...make pigs in blankets for the kids and let them stay up until like 9pm.

WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (lmao)

I did put a bottle of champagne in the fridge though. I love it, and I like having an excuse to drink it. Bill isn't much with it, but hopefully he won't expect me to drink the entire bottle, or he will not be seeing me tomorrow!

We are going to our neighbors. Kids will watch movies and play, we'll eat appetizers and play cards. We do that pretty much every weekend--well usually it's dinner, not appetizers--but no one has to drive and it will be low-key and fun.

Need to look into this partini thing. We always play games and cards with our friends. I'm hoping they open the Scattergories we got them for Christmas cause I rock at that.

After we have Christmas at my mom's (had to cancel Christmas because of the blizzard) Nolan is going to stay there and Tom and I are going to see a movie with Tom's sister.

It's so cold here I don't have much desire to do much else, so we'll see what's up after that.

We are going to see Up In The Air with George Clooney.  Part of it was filmed here in Omaha and it's getting pretty good ratings so it should be interesting.

I'll have to break it out then!  I do know I can reserve online, but I forgot!

Were going to see if the kids can stay up but I don't know if they will make it with us watching movies. They'll probably fall asleep on the floor.

I am home alone sick. Don took Ivy to a friend's house who was having a new years party...she has a daughter Ivy's age. I am sure they will have alot of fun.

Tonight is the night I met don for the first time (10 years ago). It is always such a special date for me heart.gif
