We took them skating today at my SIL house (a little pond behind her parents' house).
Charlie had never skated before and is about to start going with his daycare class.
He started off falling down, sprawling, etc. couldn't stand up. He didn't get frustrated at all and very shortly told us to let him try it himself. By the time we finished (maybe 30 minutes?) he could do the length of the pond without falling, get back up himself if he did fall, and never once lost the smile on his face.
SO PROUD of that boy!
(oh and josie used the bob skates (the two blade kind you strap to your boots). She was a total pro! She was doing it by herself in minutes! my kids are geniuses! lmao)

That's awesome!
I wish you had video.
I do. My SIL has it on her camera. I should be able to download it tonight.
So I was at McDonald's the other day and I was getting a drink and a spunky little 70 year old woman started talking to me.
She wished me a happy new year and then told me that she had to tell me a story.
She said she was driving from CA to AZ and she stopped at a gas station/convenience store/truck stop for coffee.
She said that there were 5 canisters of different kinds of coffee and she didn't know which one to get so the huge truck driver standing next to her suggested one and said it was really good.
He said that if she didn't like it she could punch him and if she did like it she could give him a hug.
So she paid for it and drank it and said it was delicious so she decided to find him to give him a hug.
She looked everywhere and he was gone and then she spotted him getting into his truck.
She ran over and stopped him and said you were right about the coffee can I give you a hug?
He said sure and they hugged and then he said, "that was really nice, no one has hugged me in years."
:tears, tears, tears
I just thought that was so sad. Can you imagine not being hugged for years?
I demand them from my children daily.
OMG.
I am completely welling up.
This might now be my fave MS moment of the year. Not that I am happy that trucker never got hugs, but the reminder that her story offers.
I also have been COMPLETELY thrilled to see so many MSers expanding their families this year.
Fave personal memory? IDK-there are a lot. Our trip to OC this summer was really fun-we were able to go for a whole week and we really made some good memories on that trip. Also, after years of being neighbors and friends, I finally opened up to my two neighbor friends about my past, and that turned out to be a really great experience (I am never sure how that conversation is going to go) and we are all closer now. And watching the girls make some new friends in school this year has been bittersweet-it is so nice to watch them blossom, but they are growing up awfully fast! Oh! And we did our first real sleepovers this year where my mom and dad took the girls overnight-that started in January 2009. I was nervous about it, but it has turned out to be AWESOME, needless to say. :) And being able to pay the bills without worry has been a true blessing. I guess all in all, 2009 has been a pretty decent year to us!

WTG Charlie and Josie!!!! Sounds like your youngest has a lot more coordination than mine, lmao. I wouldn't dare put her on skates!
Oh-I thought of another great memory!!! When Bill and I went to the SYTYCD tour!!! Sure, we had seats in the nosebleeds (well, they weren't that bad, really-you would have had to gotten tickets in the first few minutes to get the really good ones), but it was just really fun to go and see that.
