Favorite 2009 Memory- Adelaide. :) Finding out she was/is a girl. Having her. Seeing her. Holding her. Loving on her. All of it. Watching Colin grow as a big brother...

MS memory- ETA- I change that to getting to know Chele off the board even though its via text I don't care! :) And that beautiful, beautiful blanket she made Addy as a baby gift! That is the most amazing thing any one has done for us! And getting to know Alison better to and being able to have someone who understood what I was going through towards the end of my journey w/ Addy in the hospital.

Good morning!

What was your favorite memory/moment of 2009? Favorite momsquawk memory?

Favorite memory from 2009 would be starting a mom's group with girls that for the most part, didn't know each other, and watching them all become this super tight knit group.

Favorite MS memory would be April's flub just a moment ago. I laughed so hard that I cried. Close second would be Evelyn's birth (Alison) and LL splitting with 5, because I know amazing things are in store for her now.

And congratulations, Sara. ;) I'm over the moon for you!

So I was at McDonald's the other day and I was getting a drink and a spunky little 70 year old woman started talking to me.

She wished me a happy new year and then told me that she had to tell me a story.

She said she was driving from CA to AZ and she stopped at a gas station/convenience store/truck stop for coffee.

She said that there were 5 canisters of different kinds of coffee and she didn't know which one to get so the huge truck driver standing next to her suggested one and said it was really good.

He said that if she didn't like it she could punch him and if she did like it she could give him a hug.

So she paid for it and drank it and said it was delicious so she decided to find him to give him a hug.

She looked everywhere and he was gone and then she spotted him getting into his truck.

She ran over and stopped him and said you were right about the coffee can I give you a hug?

He said sure and they hugged and then he said, "that was really nice, no one has hugged me in years."

:tears, tears, tears

I just thought that was so sad. Can you imagine not being hugged for years?

I demand them from my children daily.

Reason No. 1 not to start working out:

you never know when one of your kids is going to vomit in the middle of the night causing you to fly from your bed and realize upon hitting the floor that your calves and ass are not in the mood to get up!!

I got my Wii Active something or other yesterday and used it for the first time.  My calves and legs and butt are soooo sore today!!!

I cannot imagine!  This made me think of one of the families my office sponsored for x-mas this year.

The family was a dad and 3 kids aged 20, 18, 17.  There were various health and mild mental issues with this family.  I was the chair of the project so I got to know a little more about them than most of my co-workers.  Anyway - their mother left them at Christmas when the oldest was 3 . . .  3 years old!!!   And they haven't seen her since.    Those kids have not been hugged by a Momma in 17 years cry When we delivered their gifts two of the kids were there and I hugged them so tight and long they probably thought I was crazy!!!

Kate.  Bless her heart - she has never thrown up before cry

ETA:  when DH dropped Jake off at daycare this a.m. he asked about it and they told him it was going around and usually lasts 8 hours.  Thankfully Kate has not thrown up since 9:00 this morning so I'm thinking it might have passed.  Now I'm just hoping she doesn't share it with anyone else that lives here!

I have never seen that show.

I am getting ready to finish up my grocery list and meal planning.

I really hate going to the grocery store.

april i'm with you - watching my girls become best friends this year has been incredible.
also, mike and i had a really nice dinner recently at thsi restaurant on this great corner - we were eating our bar food (yum) and it started snowing - we have such nice memories of being in a restaurant when it starts to snow (this happens to us a lot and we just love it - plus we went on our honeymoon in quebec so of course we had many snowy restaurant nights there) - anyway this was just last week, and it was really special.  we needed the reconnection.

favorite MS memory - definitely NYC.  even if i fell while sober. :)

omg.  this might be my favorite 2009 memory.
