I am loving this!  We need as many ideas as we can get!

A few things:

Elizabeth is Meghan's middle name so that's out.

I have a few Katies in my family already in different forms (Kaitlyn, Kathryn, Kate), as I'm sure most Irish families do, so I'm crossing those off as well.  I do love Katie though it would just make things very confusing (almost as confusing as 'Mike' is in our family).

Mike loves Sophia but I keep associating with a snotty little girl I know and I can't shake it. Plus, it's one of the top baby names right now and I always try to stay out of the top 5.

Mike's new one is Madeline.  I like it but feel like Madi is so common because everyone around here is named Madison.

I do like Sophie though.

We are going to try and do Grace as a middle name since that is my Grandmother's name (who passed away this year).

My #1 was Alyssa Jane but it got vetoed by DH a long time ago.

Names we do agree on but haven't really felt like "the" name yet.  I guess you could call these our tops though:  Natalie, Abigail, and Erin.

For Megan's little one, I'm going with Adelaide(sp?) or Colin.

OMG, I totally put Natalie down before changing it to Cecelia!

I love that name. It's in my top 5 for a boy. I just think it looks so darn cute on a little boy, but follows SO well into adulthood.

See, we don't even need Muffy back on here, we can name her baby without input while she's sleeping. ;)

Since you like Alyssa, what about Elise or Emilia (I love Emilia because it has sooooo many nn possibility - Mia, Milia, Emmy, Emma, etc, etc.) Kinda in the same family, but maybe one of those would fly with Mike better.

tbh, I have NO idea why men get a say. Joe can't even find matching socks most day, and he was supposed to get 50% say in a baby name? Insanity.

I do love Abby (not that you asked, lol)... and I like Natalie quite a bit - but adore Natalia, idk why. And I like Caroline with Meghan, too. And Darby - there was a little girl on Hannah's soccer team that was a Darby, and she was SO damn cute that I think just a good association with the name has made me like it more than I normally would.

As far as Grace as a mn, it's a great one - goes with a TON. But my fave is Olivia Grace. I freaking love Olivia, to the point where I don't care if it's super common. It's classic, and just beautiful.

Have I mentioned how much I love this discussion yet 800x? lol.

di, grace is a great MN.  i love that i used it for C.  i had considered it with R but didnt love both long A's (Raaaachel Graaaaace) - but i seriously call cara "cara grace" the majority of the time. i adore it.

I love Sophia Grace for Di. I wanted to name Hannah's name to be Sophia nn Sophie but Kent would have nothing to do with it. I love Grace as a mn and if I can ever get Kent on board for a third and it's a girl, I would love to use Grace.

I also love Abigail with Meghan.

Totally my favorite girl name and it's my mom and grandma's name so it's a family name. Probably won't get to use it but would if we had a girl.

Leah - I LOVE Olivia. Love it.

Muffy - for some reason I keep thinking Raquel for you, I don't know why. Maybe b/c I love Rachel but it has a bit of a twist.

Olivia Grace was actually in the #1 spot a few ago (I told you we've been having a hard time with names! LOL).  I was *SHOCKED* to see that it's one of the top 2009 names.  I had no idea!  It's still on the list though.

I love Elise (and Eliza) but Mike doesn't love them.  I just suggested Amelia and both of us like it but as he said, other names are in the lead at the moment LOL.

There are so many names that I like the nickname more than the full name, which is where I'm having some issues.  Sophie rather than Sophia; Abby more than Abigail (although still like Abigail).

We both like Phoebe but associate it too much with the show Friends.  Piper is cute but I'm worried it may sound too cutesy as she gets older.  I don't know any adult Pipers so I can picture it.

Don't let Mike see this!  He is pushing so hard for Sophia.  I just can't separate it from the association I have with the snotty little girl (silly, I know!).  I also worry that she'll go to school with 10 Sophias.  Mike doesn't see this as a problem rofl.gif.

what about Alice or Jane for Di? Both would go well with Meghan. I do love Eliza. So pretty. I also think Alyssa is such a pretty name.
