A little fun at Muffy and Di's expense?

It's time for another round of my favorite game...

Name that MomSquawk baby!!!

So, let's name those kiddos that are next out of the womb! I'm going to let Nicole off the hook, since I think she's solid on her name for her little girl... but Muffy and Di are not getting let off so easily!!!

Soooo

Let's give those girls some inspiration!!! Share your favorites, or just ones you think they'd like based on what they've already chosen!

I'm terrible at naming babies but I'll try.

Girl for Megan:
Sylvie or Sylvia

Boy for Megan:
Daniel or Michael

I'll have to think more on Di

For Muffy:

Girl: Madeline Adele
Boy: Matthew Vaughn

I was kinda trying to stay in the more french sounding names, and then factoring in the Tim is a total classic, so that's where I pulled Matthew.

For Di:
Katherine (or Kaitlyn) Rose

I pulled the mn out of my ass, but I kinda love Katie Rose, lol. I also love Sophia or Isabella with Meghan.

ok - this sounds like fun!

we are working on a short list of about 6 names for each, but nothing at all decided yet.

i can say the middle names will either be Elizabeth or Dimitri (don't worry about matching a boys name with Dimitri - we gave that up a LONG time ago LOL - but he is our dearest friend and is Russian, so the name is what it is)

those are the godparents names and it is a tradition to use that as middle names.

who knows, one of you might just come up with "the" name - god knows we appear to be unable to do that ourselves LOL!

bert is somewhat against cotton-candy americanised names, and also names with strange spellings...  for a girls name i am purposely avoiding C names only because it was a total coincidence the 2 girls names begin with C and i don't want to be stuck having to give a third girl a C name.

if its a boy Tim wants to name it TJ  (that would be "Tim Junior" LMAO) so i think that would be its nickname off the bat if its a boy - poor thing!

think maybe classical, biblical, old english etc. ....

just to let you know that Madeline is a fave of ours - except our BFF's and Cecile's godparents have a girl with that name, so it is no longer a possibility for us.  (funny too - Katherine is on our short list for girls, and Matthew was under initial consideration for a boys name - so you are dipping your toes in warm water here!  :wtg

I think I really like Amelie, is it pronounced like Am A Lee? I may have totally butchered that.

Yay! lol!

Darn on the Madeline - I love that for you guys... I'm also digging Charlotte, idk why.

And I love William Dimetri. I could see a young version of Bert look like a William/Liam (but that's one of the names he wasn't feeling, huh?). I'm kinda feeling Gavin for you, too. I'm feeling a lot of boy names, more in that classic area - Jack, Owen, William, Colin... Oh, I like Julian, too. Man, I really love me some baby names, lmao.

I am loving this!  We need as many ideas as we can get!

A few things:

Elizabeth is Meghan's middle name so that's out.

I have a few Katies in my family already in different forms (Kaitlyn, Kathryn, Kate), as I'm sure most Irish families do, so I'm crossing those off as well.  I do love Katie though it would just make things very confusing (almost as confusing as 'Mike' is in our family).

Mike loves Sophia but I keep associating with a snotty little girl I know and I can't shake it. Plus, it's one of the top baby names right now and I always try to stay out of the top 5.

Mike's new one is Madeline.  I like it but feel like Madi is so common because everyone around here is named Madison.

I do like Sophie though.

We are going to try and do Grace as a middle name since that is my Grandmother's name (who passed away this year).

My #1 was Alyssa Jane but it got vetoed by DH a long time ago.

Names we do agree on but haven't really felt like "the" name yet.  I guess you could call these our tops though:  Natalie, Abigail, and Erin.

For Megan's little one, I'm going with Adelaide(sp?) or Colin.

Since you like Alyssa, what about Elise or Emilia (I love Emilia because it has sooooo many nn possibility - Mia, Milia, Emmy, Emma, etc, etc.) Kinda in the same family, but maybe one of those would fly with Mike better.

tbh, I have NO idea why men get a say. Joe can't even find matching socks most day, and he was supposed to get 50% say in a baby name? Insanity.

I do love Abby (not that you asked, lol)... and I like Natalie quite a bit - but adore Natalia, idk why. And I like Caroline with Meghan, too. And Darby - there was a little girl on Hannah's soccer team that was a Darby, and she was SO damn cute that I think just a good association with the name has made me like it more than I normally would.

As far as Grace as a mn, it's a great one - goes with a TON. But my fave is Olivia Grace. I freaking love Olivia, to the point where I don't care if it's super common. It's classic, and just beautiful.

Have I mentioned how much I love this discussion yet 800x? lol.

Oh, and I'm adding Benjamin to my list for Muffy. Good solid, classic boy name.
