Is anyone still feeling Merry at this point???

Question for today, if no one minds: What was your most memorable New Year's?

Bonus question: What are your NYE plans, if any?

To answer my own question(s)...

I have had a couple of memorable NYE celebrations. One was when I was a senior in college. My roommates all came out to my house and we went out. It was memorable for a couple of reasons:
1. on the drive over, my one roommates then boyfriend got into a tiff with another driver and pulled a GUN. Oy vey!!! He was such a redneck...we were SO glad when they broke up. (not to mention he was like 30 or so and we were all 21)
2. two of my roommates got into a HUGE fight while we were out. One, who was always a huge flirt, was dancing with this older guy, who then gave her like $100-it was very odd. Anyway, she kept the benjamin, and my other roomie flipped out about it. When we got back to my house, the pissed off roomie (who was the only local one) drove home with her drunk ass boyfriend!! We tried to make her stay, but it was no use. IDK why my dad wasn't more insistent about it, unless he was already in the house by then.
3. My dad drove us and picked us up that night, lol. (one good thing about having a recovered alcoholic in the fam-permanent DD) It was funny though because he brought little trash cans in the minivan in case anyone got sick. As it turned out, that was a good thing!

It was quite an evening. The next morning, we all piled into bed with my late sleeper roomie, and broke one of my parent's twin beds-oops.

We had a lot of fun though, overall. Well, aside from the huge fight and one of my roomies puking everywhere...oh and the gun incident, lmao.

As far as plans for NYE-we have none. We don't have a sitter, and I am not about to take the girls out.

I haven't been doing very well anyway, so I don't think drinking a lot would be a good idea for me. I am teetering on the verge of a full on flare, so I really need to be careful. I need to get better, NOT worse. This is the worst things have been for me in a long time!

So we will be low key at home. I think Bill wants to make wings. Which is fine-I just need to avoid eating them!

This flare starting is upsetting me. I am not too bad at this point (going to the bathroom 3-5 times a day, normal is once or twice-but the frequency isn't as upsetting as is the bleeding-sorry for the TMI), but it isn't good.

I have to be honest. While I know it won't happen, and it probably isn't the best thing anyway, it makes me want to get pg all the more. I know it is always possible that a pregnancy could make things worse, but it could also make things a whole lot better. Not to mention that if I am going to be sick, I might as well get something out of it in the end, kwim?

Bill, of course, is not on board with this. For a multitude of reasons. So I guess I am still in the waiting room on this one.

Heya Supa.

I'm sorry to hear that stuff is acting up again. That's horrible.

I don't have any crazy exciting NYE memories... we're pretty low key, we usually just drink at home, or with family and friends.

This year, my sister is throwing an engagement party for my niece, so I'm sure we'll do a little drinking, card, beer pong, and we'll definately be playing Partini at some point since that's my family's favorite game, lol. Hannah will probably be staying with my mom, although I should probably call and ask, lol.

Happy Monday!

We have run our errands, run the boys at open gym and then the playground despite the ice, and now the boys and I are relaxing at home to the Buzz Lightyear cartoon that Santa brought Koda.

Most memorable New Years Eve- 1998.  I was sort of seeing a guy, met up with him at First Night Boston, made it official that night, go an awesome New Years Eve Kiss.  11 years later I'm married to someone else, he is openly gay and in a very committed relationship which would be marriage if my state had actually passed it.  Boo.  (He was probably the best kisser I dates though, lol)

This year?  Big fat nothing.  Not even a big meal.  Just a normal day for us.  NYE is never a big event in our home.

My girls have been sleeping in lately, which is nice. But it is also because they have been getting to bed late, which is not nice.

We need to get back on schedule around here. School next week will be really rough if we don't.

Bill got me a memory foam topper for my mattress and I LOVE it. I need to get to bed early tonight so I can take more advantage of it...

Thanks Leah-you would think I'd be used to this kind of thing, but I still hate it and wish I could just get to and STAY in remission for a long time.  But I will keep working on it...

Anyway, I like low key NYE, tbh.  I wish we had people we could just get together with, play some games, etc.  But everyone has kids, so unless someone gets a sitter, no one can really do that.  My BIL sometimes has a party, but we aren't taking the girls for that-we need to get back on our schedule and not be around anymore germs!!

How funny about your NYE!!!!  Are you still friends with that guy?

We haven't done much on NYE for a long time.  We don't do a big meal either-but Bill almost always wants to make wings.  We bake them though.  It takes a long time, but it is so much easier and neater than frying, and they taste just as good.

Are your kids still playing with Little People?

Mine hardly do and I want to get rid of them. But Bill is resistant. It is just that we need the space!!! My girls really play mostly with those polly pocket sized princesses and the barbie sized ones. Sometimes baby doll type stuff, and sometimes instruments or something. And dress up a lot too.

We need more men though-they are obsessed with their princesses getting married. Kate is starting to have sleeping beauty and snow white get married, even though Anna gets all upset at her because she says, "They are both GIRLS. You need a MAN!"

lmao

I wonder if there is anything above guru status. IDT there is, but I am curious.

I am only about 8 posts away from 1000. So I will likely bore you all until I get there.

Then I have to spring the girls-they didn't nap today.

I need to find a way to make the holidays less stressful, but IDK how. Honestly, the things that cause me the most stress are things that will be hard to change. Like the fact that I have to do ALL of the shopping. Bill says he will do it, but he isn't good about that. And we have a lot of people to buy for.

Also, just the schedule is out of hand. I mean, we have Christmas eve, which is nice but just insane. We don't get to bed until extremely late on Christmas eve, then we are up early on Christmas to rush around. Then we like to have dinner at our house with my folks (and my bro and SIL came this year too-which was nice, but very chaotic), so it is nonstop.

Then because ONE of Bill's 6 brothers doesn't come down on Christmas day, we all end up having to go BACK to the farm to exchange with them-the past couple of years it has been the day after Christmas. I was feeling absolutely awful, so I didn't want to go, but ended up being pressured into it anyway. It is really no wonder I am starting to flare. I need to have a sit down with Bill about this. I need more relaxation, more sleep and fewer cookies!!!

Supa, Hannah loves LP still... at other people's houses, lol. She never played with them here (after 2ish), and we got rid of them, though.

I have verified that my mom is going to watch Hannah on NYE, though. Although, it is not without cost... "You're going to your sister's to drink, huh? Are you alcoholics? I saw you both with a glass of wine at both Christmas Eve AND Thanksgiving."

Oy.

One of my SILs could use some P&PT. She has been sick for almost a year now. They thought it was lyme, they thought it was a host of other things, then they thought it was kidney stones. Now they have NO idea what is going on, but she didn't even come to anything over Christmas because she can't hold anything down and has terrible diarrhea. She is tiny as it is, but has lost like 12 pounds, which she can NOT afford to have lost. I feel just awful for her. Her life has been turned upside down, and no one knows why.

She has had these symptoms, but a lot of pain, extreme fatique, joint pain, etc. I just wish she could even get a diagnosis.

So if you have a few to spare, her name is Kristin, and she could really use the prayers.

Yes, see, my girls will play with them at my mother's house.  Maybe I should take them over there.  They are just taking up space here.

Right?!? lmao.

She's not a drinker, and it shows... Especially when we have a family get together and she's yelling that she can't believe we 6-12 people drank 2 bottles of wine.

She'd really crap if she saw how much we drank when she isn't around, lmao.

Anna told me today that she is going to live next door to me so that I can be her kids' grandma when she grows up. And she is going to still bake cookies with me, and she will have a boy baby and a girl baby, and I can look out for them, which is her terminology for babysitting.

She is so cute.

But if we are still in this God forsaken townhouse when she is a grown up, I will shoot myself.
