We let the kids open one present each this afternoon once Glen got home from work.

I'm trying to get pics/links in another tab but amazon won't load.

Mark opened a Tonka Pod--the one that you use with rocks--and once I went to the pet store and got him some aquarium gravel, he heart.gif it!

Henry opened the Zoo Tycoon cd-rom. Once we got it to load on our cr@ppy computer, he really liked it.

The kids like to go around our house and put random stuff in boxes, then wrap it for me and Glen, so they gave us each a present to open.

I got Henry's animal encylopedia, and Glen got an easy-reader book called Germs Make Me Sick.

Hopefully the rest of the presents (for us) are ones that grown-ups bought.

Kimberly and her family went to Disney for Christmas.

Santa (with my help) will be leaving their gifts at their house so they'll see what he brought when they get home on Saturday.

She called me yesterday to see if Santa had visited yet.

She's so silly--it wasn't Christmas Eve!

But she was also worried about Homer the cat because they bought him an automatic feeder and weren't sure if it worked.

I went to check on him last night, and I forced the feeder both directions and there was food on either side of the empty slot.

I don't really know how it works but it seemed like one side or the other should have been empty since they'd been gone for 3 days.

I gave Homer a couple scoops of food, and I'm going this evening to give him some more.

Plus I'm going to sit and pet him a while; I know he's lonely.

My Childrens Place fleece officially won't be here on time.  *sigh*  They were mathcing without being exact, would have been cute for Christmas Morning.  They are arriving tomorrow, but the University is closed so there is no one to sign for them.  UPS doesn't visit the halls where I live, only the central office.  I tried calling the distribution center to see if they would hold at the center for me to pick up, but I couldn't get past the autotmated menu (jerks).

Oh well.  Won't make or break Christmas, just a bummer.

(ps, swap partner, don't fret.  I haven't received anything yet but mail takes an extra 2 days on campus to get from mialing services to me and with the campus closed tomorrow it won't be until next week.  Totally ok...actually even better.  It spreads out the holidays a little more.  Just didn't want you to think I wasn't posting!)

I'm home from feeding, litter-cleaning, and petting Homer.

It's official; he likes me more than he likes his own family now. ;D

He snuggled up in my lap and purred and purred.

Sweet kitty.

Last night, Glen asked what Santa was bringing.

Wonder what he would've done if I'd said, "Nothing. What should we do?"

April, we don't have a book about spiders.

Otherwise, they would def wrap that up for him.

Every time we go to the zoo gift shop, I see a remote control tarantula that I am tempted to buy for him . . . or the kids.

But it's too expensive.

Homer's auto-feeder was on "Off" instead of "Auto".

Poor cat was HUNGRY.

Plus he had kicked litter all over the floor around his litter box.

I called Kimberly to ask where the scoop was, and I dealt with it then swept the floor.

I wouldn't do that for just anybody.

Gross.

How much is it?  I'd be willing to chip in some money if you got his reaction on video biggrin

I keep seeing stuff that I think "Oh, I'll go back and see if that's on sale after Christmas."

I know I'm going to forget all of those things.

If I remember, I'm going to try to find one of those big truck things that carry cars.

I've seen them at both WM and Target so maybe they'll go on good sale after Christmas.

Also, I saw a superhero coat at Dillard's that Mark would love.

It's already on sale but not enough sale.

Dillard's rarely puts their stuff on good-enough sale.

The coat was pretty ugly too.

biggrin I won't be going back to the zoo before Christmas.

Too rainy.

Very tempting, though.
