i got the idea to use stuff i've gotten free/cheap to build teacher gift baskets this year, so i thought i'd share.
each basket has either some kind of lotion (olay or nivea) or one of the glade candle tins with refills. they all have 2 of the glade glass candles and also some of the nivea lip treatment and some have neosporin lip treatment too. they all have m&ms, dove candies, turtles, and an assortment of homemade cookies. some have holiday mugs and emily's teacher has a small holiday picture frame (all free with the $5 hallmark coupon).
i got the baskets at ac moore for about $1.50 each and got the cellophane there for about $1.99 and used hardly any of the roll.
i wish i knew exactly what i spent, but my guess would be around $5 per basket, maybe a little less.
i also wish i didn't feel so guilty about not giving them gift cards this year. i hope they're ok with it.
(oh and i wanted to do the 2 liters, but we don't buy them here and i tried to track 6 down but wasn't able to).
that looks great april - i give you a ton of credit for sticking to a budget - i'd love to see everyone's yearly savings if you guys keep the couponing up! i've been totally blown away by all of this!!
I think they are wonderful! I can say as a teacher, I was always appreciative of any gift. I also would have been more than happy to have one of those baskets. The teachers are going to love them.
