Good morning!

Who's digging out from the snow storm today? How much did you get?

What else is happening today?

we are.

omg, so much snow. i think matt's going to try to call a plow today.  it would take both of us all day to shovel all of that.  not even sure how much we got - it's hard to tell from the drifts, kwim?  i think probably close to 2 feet, with drifts closer to 3 ft.

Good morning!

We just have a little dusting around here, nothing like the east coast.  I hope everyone in that direction is staying warm and cozy.

April I used to love snow like that when I was a kid.  We used to make tunnels in the snow drifts.  Now, I don't exactly see it the same.  I'd rather stay inside.  I hope you get lucky and someone comes and knocks on your door to see if you want your driveway plowed.

girl, i've already been on craigslist trying to find someone we can hire!  LOL!

it's so stupid, but what i'm the most worried about is that i wasn't able to go drop off our angel tree gift yesterday.  :(  i called and the pick-up was delayed til tuesday, but i'm worried i won't be able to get over there by then.

Sometimes we get lucky when it snows a lot.  There are a couple of people with plows on the front of their trucks that will come knock on our door and ask if we want the driveway plowed.  Too bad they don't make those plows for mini vans. giggle.gif  I hope you get your gift dropped off today despite this white messy stuff.

Morning!

I made blueberry muffins this morning, so the house smells good.

And they're yummy.

We have church this morning.

We're waiting for the snow. We're supposed to get some of what hit the east coast of the US yesterday.

We're only forecasted for 10 - 15 cm - like a foot. Nothing like you guys got.

I had to go to old navy this morning. It was perfect. I got there at 8:30, the store opened at 7. it was completely empty. a complete disaster but empty.

then i hit walmart and it was perfect. lots of staff people working but no customers.

I kind of thought it would be busy since we are expecting the storm this afternoon.

oh well, I got a pile of stocking stuffers and think I can call them done.

I just need one more big gift each for the kids, something for Jonah, and to pick up a book for my mom from my brother. and a couple of gift cards I can get at the grocery store.

done.

yay

April, the snow you got was crazy. (Supa, you too, if you're around!) We really dodged a bullet out here, and I am SO glad. I hate the snow... I like the first few hours when I'm cozy and snug in the house, watching old movies, cuddled with some hot chocolate. Then I get stir crazy, or even worse, realize that we are out of toilet paper or something.

We're cleaning the basement today. Santa called Hannah and told her that if she doesn't, he isn't bringing anything new. I don't know why Santa has to punish me. What did I do? Boo to that.

Leah, Santa is punishing you because he knows where all the toys came from in the first place. And how much he is bringing this year. lol.

I'm desperately trying to clean today. I'd really like my two days off before christmas to be stress free.

A slice of life from my house:

Yesterday, I was resting in bed due to a nasty sinus infection. Glen was lying on the floor in the living room watching TV. The kids were arguing over something really dumb (in the same room as Glen and in the kitchen which is open to the living room). I hear:

Henry: Stop saying that! I'm going to tape you up.
Mark: Okay, where's the tape?
Henry: Dad, where's the tape?
Glen: [absently] Hmm?
Henry and Mark: Where's the tape?
Glen: mumble, mumble, why do you need it?
Henry: Oh, no! If I tell you, I'll get in trouble. Just tell me where the tape is.
Glen: mumble, mumble. [I guess he told them or the kids found it.]
Mark: Tape me here.
Henry: Sit in this chair.
[Lots of ripping tape noises]
Meanwhile, I'm hollering, "HONEY!" from my bed, then "GLEN!!" No response.
Henry: I'm going to tape your mouth now.
Mark: Okay.

All the while, Glen is practically in the same room with them. They are in plain view of him if he'd just turn his head.

Two minutes later, I hear:
Glen: HENRY!! Take that tape off of him. You can't do that! It's not safe.
[Henry and Mark yelling, complaining, and wailing that Glen made them stop.]

Hmmm. Fun times.

My mom said she'd watch the boys so Glen and I can go out to dinner.

Yay!!!

We haven't gone out to dinner in AGES.

My co-teacher at Mother's Day Out works the bar at Red Lobster (where we're going), and she said she could pick up a table if we sat in the bar area.

So that's my plan.

I heart.gif my co-teacher; she's the greatest.

I'm going to give her a big fat tip, too.

:D

The only thing my mom wants for Christmas (or her birthday or Mother's Day or anytime) is a good picture of her 3 grandsons.

So I invited John over after church to try to get some decent pics.

We stopped at a park on the way here, and I got a few shots but it was FREEZING so we didn't stay long.

We came home, and I took more pictures here.

And of course my ornery 9-year-old didn't want his picture taken so he kept covering his face or making ugly faces at me.

John would only smile a super-fake smile at me if and when he'd accidentally look toward the camera when the other two kids were looking at me.

And Mark would only grimace and frown unless he thought I wasn't really taking a picture.

I did end up with some decent shots but--whew, that was hard work.

LMAO. Probably so. Seeing as how he sat at his computer desk... I mean the North Pole... the whole time and didn't help much.

How about you come clean my house and I'll do yours? I have a TON of laundry to do. (Like ALWAYS.)
