Good morning.  I woke up somewhere around 5 and have not been able to go back to sleep.  It's not a terrible thing since I needed to get up and do a couple of things before I take E to preschool.

Question for today:

What is stressing you out about the holidays and/or what have you done this year differently that has been the best idea yet?

Stressing? See cocktail chat. (and PLEASE HELP!)

this year I shopped early and have been sale/coupon shopping and gotten really nice things for insanely low prices.

i even did some shopping for my kids at the goodwill store. got an awesome melissa and doug puzzle for mikey for $1.00 and a play kitchen for Ben for $3.00

Dyk I totally thought there'd be visible links on the recent posts page about what topics were happening in cocktail, and since I never saw any, I just thought I wasn't missing anything, lmao.

Anyways, it wasn't a new idea, but I'm glad I shopped early - Joe's hours got cut hugely at work, and he isn't getting a Christmas bonus this year, so if I hadn't, we would have been screwed. But, I was done with the two of them, so everything is fantastic.

Also, I still do my spreadsheet but tweaked it. It was all color coded, ideas, price, tracking numbers, etc. It was my baby for weeks.

Quick check in from work

I am stressed about everything. Between baking my cookies (which just may not get done this year) to making stuff for my niece and nephew, not having money, Quint splitting time with me so he gets the kids too. NIGHTMARE

I talked to a certain someone multiple times yesterday and am still smiling today.

Hi!

I don't know what is stressing me out. Thinking I've gotten too much for the kids, I guess.

I need to go wrap right now since I'm here by myself.

I have a stinkin' sinus infection.

Doc appt. at 3:30, Henry's class Christmas party at 2:00, a date with Henry at 8:00.

Glen has the day off so he and Mark have gone to visit with Nana.

 Well since you asked.....

I was out of town until the 13th then I got back and had to prepare for my husband's company party that we had at our house last night and I have no Christmas shopping done and today is my only day because after this my kids are out of school and my house is trashed from last night and I only have 5 more hours until my kids get out of school and I'm still in my PJ's putzing around on the computer.

LOL!

I am so lost on what is going on with you right now. I really hope you can find a way to destress and enjoy the holiday. I know money can cause so much stress. I hope 2010 is good to you.

I am

Oh no, that is stressing me out reading this. Do you have someone who can watch the kids while you shop this weekend?

How was the Christmas party last night?

I have a UPS question.  One of my amazon orders left on 12/14 in Arizona.  No new shipping updates since.  Two orders that shipped after have already arrived, and had shipping updates along each step of the way.  Doesn't that seem odd?  I'm not panicking yet, but Monday is that latest arrival date by their estimate, so I better get it by then dang it.

What us stressing me out this year is... Financial troubles. Being out of work with my back really put us behind and we are just now catching up.

DH gets paid Tues so I have to do ALL of my shopping inbetween work and getting the kids at night Tuesday through Thursday. Thats gonna be fun.

I did however find out that DH will be home for Christmas (They don't have enough work for him to stay for the extra week. So he will get home on Christmas eve. Just in time to not help with shopping.)

I have come to the conclusion that I am just a worry wart. I think I make shit up to worry about. I really should have no reason to be stressed, but some reason I do get stressed this time of year.

I am good with the kids gift and even Rich's. I mean I think my problem is I want to get the perfect gift for everyone. I put way too much thought into it and it drains me.

The only thing I have hanging over my head is what our Christmas afternoon/evening plans are. We normally spend it with my Dad's family, but I do not think that  is going to happen this year. We do breakfast at my parents after we do our morning and then come home and get ready for Rich's parents to come over. Then I think I may have to cook dinner this year and just have my parents stop over for dessert. We do our big Christmas Eve party with my parents and my Mom's family.

That was a lot of babble.

Good morning/afternoon!

My class is finally finished. It was a good week. I love learning new things (what a geek). It made me giddy, lmao.

I'm working for the next hour and a half and then I'm going shopping.

I still have NOTHING done. Time is getting tight. I'm making mike meet me at the toystore and i hope we are going to pick out Charlie's big gift (either the playmobil airport or a dinosaur playmobil thingy with a volcano).

Good afternoon girls.

I'm doing pretty well shopping wise. I have 5 more things to buy give or take one or two.

What's stressing me out is the sickness in my house! Bryson has pneumonia as many of you might have seen on my fb and Hannah has a nasty cough. Again. I am drowing in copays, deductibles, and prescriptions. I feel like i'm barely treading water. If I have to take Hannah in Monday it's going to cost me more then I have Sigh.

I am still super excited for Christmas though so i'm just trying to go with the flow.

My in-laws and my grandparents coming and just getting the housework done and in order for their arrivals. Getting the shopping 100% done in time. It wouldn't have been bad if we hadn't of been hit with this storm. Now we're stuck up on this damned hill for Lord knows how long! Its going to snow today, tomorrow, Sunday, and Monday- stop Tuesday and Wednesday, start again Thursday. AH!!!! And I'm about 50% done for Addy, 99% done for Colin 45% done for Katie and haven't even started for my in-laws yet.

Yarr.

That and my people are causing me this HUGE amount of unnecessary stress. We can't go to them b/c we are having company until AFTER Christmas and I don't know when.  They won't come up here to spend Christmas with our grandparents (my mom's parents)... But they want us to come down there- we can't go down there b/c our tags are expired and we just haven't gone to get it fixed b/c of everything else we were doing. This whole syncing up tags and inspections has just messed everyone here up! Everyone I know has dead tags b/c they didn't understand that their inspections are now tied into their registration so we're all running around w/ dead tags. Haha.

Anyway- that is the biggest cause of my stress.

Whew.

I got most of the gifts wrapped plus I sorted out Santa gifts and hid them away.

Mark has about 3 times more stuff for his stocking than Henry.

I thought I was done shopping but I guess not.

It's just so easy to find superhero and Transformer-themed small items (figures, toothbrushes, band-aids, etc.)

Henry doesn't care about any of that stuff.

I need to find him a cool toothbrush for his stocking.

And I *did* have way too much stuff for the kids.

Instead of 3 wrapped gifts each, it looks like at least 4 wrapped gifts each.

May not sound like much but I always liked the minimalist approach with the 3 gifts.

My mom says I also have a bag of gifts that I left at her house to hide.

Ahhhhh.

Zoo-themed toothbrushes?

I really have no idea what to get for Henry's stocking.

Hmmm . . .
