I mix the yolk with mayo, mustard, pickle relish, onions, celery and seasoning. I'm making this for a party next week and Ray and Stephen want me to leave the pickle relish out. I love pickle relish but maybe I'm in the minority. So in or out? How do I transport deviled eggs? I'm not going to buy a deviled egg container.
but i'm commenting here b/c i once saw a genius idea for transport. fill a shallow but long tupperware container with rice and set the eggs down in it. voila!
I am not a fan of deviled eggs either but even less of a fan of pickles so I am goin to say no
Another deviled egg Q tho: kyle's family soaks the egg whites in beet juice. So they are purple and flavored a little like beets. Anyone else ever heard of this or do it? He thinks it's the "right" way and the reasonthey are called deviled. I thinks it's odd and doesn't make me anymore excited to eat deviled eggs!

I ADORE deviled eggs. YUM YUM YUM!!!! This makes me salivate just thinking about them!!!
I have never had them with relish. I think it would be interesting to try, but we never put it in, obviously.
I wonder if I can add them to my Christmas dinner menu? Not fancy enough? IDK-but they are hella delish.
I'm also a fan of deviled eggs, and I like them much better with sweet pickle relish. I think the mustard-only ones are bland, and don't pop.
You could totally fancy them up; my MIL makes them, and fills the eggs with an icing piper and a fancy tip, sprinkles the paprika, then arranges them on another plate (so it's not all papriakad). One time she even put a little piece of pimento on top (super fancy, right, lmao!)

That just sounds....horrible.
I can't imagine a beet flavored deviled egg. ::shiver:: Wouldn't that make them taste like dirt?
I always thought the "deviled" came from the paprika added to it (something about adding spice or pepper, something like that). My dad the encylopedia told me once; I'm sure I'll remember the whole story in the middle of the night, lol!
I would say no on that, the onion AND the celery. But I do not eat onions and I hate celery for the most part because I bite into them thinking they are onions and freak out.
ANYWAY...aside from my weirdness, I prefer them plain. I LOVE deviled eggs. I would probably do half and half though.

I didn't elaborate earlier but I don't like raw onions or celery so I wouldn't add those. But I do like pickle relish (or just chopped-up pickles) in deviled eggs. And the creamier, the better.
