I am in total agreement with Melissa, Sara and Juni here. Please Alaina take your kids to the dentist. A person's smile is a huge part of their self-esteem but aside from that take into consideration the health issues that can come from poor dental hygiene. It can cause heart problem, untreated infections in your jaw can cause tooth and bone loss and tooth loss then can cause bone loss and an erroded jaw bone can affect your ability to speak correctly. I really believe that if something matters to you (and I'm sure your kids do) then you find the time.
Yep, I'm going to say something too. Health care shouldn't be something your kids have a chance to "refuse". I have held my kids down for things like dental cleanings and immunizations (let's not even talk about Michael) - because kids will make a decision based on what they want, not what they need. It is your job as the parent to provide what they need and health care is on the top of that list (with food and a clean, safe place to live).

And honestly, if you have dental insurance, find a PEDIATRIC dentist. You might be surprised to find that your kids do a whole lot better. Either way it should get done no matter if they refuse.
