Just wondering-I know many people have more than one place for coffee tables, so I guess I am curious if you have one in the area where your kids tend to be.

we always have but i didn't bring it with us when we moved. I will get another one but not until the house sells and I have a bit of money again.

i did have to move it out of the tv room for a while when josie was a climber - it was about a month or so. Charlie was a climber but he was very careful. Josie wasn't as stable.

We have one, but it is in the basement. It used to be upstairs, then the kids got to that dangerous age, so we moved it to the basement, and then we never got a new one for upstairs. Mostly because we can't find one that fits our needs-we want a small square one, but no one makes them small!!

I think it would be nice to have one back, but then on the other hand, I like the open space...

We didn't have too much issue with climbing, thankfully.  But we had issues with falling, or even bending over and not clearing the edge, lmao.  It was funny in a way, but then of course there was always crying...

Bill HATES that we don't have one in the living room anymore.

I said yes, but we moved it when Hannah was younger.

I move it all the time.

I have a love/hate relationship with having a coffee table. When it's in the lr I feel to cluttered and think I'd like more open space. When it's not there, it feels like the house needs something cozy.

Maybe I just need to keep it clean. It constantly has stuff all over it, under it, beside it. It's a clutter magnet.

When Raven was little we put a bumper around it. I didn't mind the climbing on it(she still does) but the corners are sharp. We use it a lot so I can't see not having one.

I voted other. We used to have one, and loved it. But our new place has a weird layout, so we ditched the table and went with a bookshelf and a couple of side tables.

I miss our coffee table, though. It served as a storage space for toys, diapers, and books, and was an excellent footrest when sitting on the couch.

We have a coffee table but it's holding our keyboard at the side of the main room.  We don't have the space to have it just sitting out in the middle of the floor so it's making itself useful in other ways.

i voted other - we have an upholstered ottoman that replaced our coffee table when emily was born. it's oversized and has a tray on it for drinks (although it mainly just collects junk).

ours is strange - it's an antique chinese opium bed. its huge, massive wood and probably weighs +400 pounds.  it has rounded edges and curved legs as is the style.

the thing does not move at all.

when we entertain a lot of people, they can even sit around the edges and i put food and drinks in the middle.  the kids can walk on top if it.

it's unusual, but works with the space and other furniture around.

i have a really rustic coffee table in the LR - we keep a few of the kids' toys on it (maybe a puzzle or two, and a little pile of blocks).
we also have a trunk in the TV room which doubles as storage.

We have a some-what formal coffee table in the living room (well, it was before it was decorated with circles from wet drink glasses).

In our family room, we have the oldest UGLIEST coffee table(think college bachelor pad) but it has completely rounded edges.  We decided to keep it for a few year so we have something to put drinks, etc. on without worrying about the kids getting hurt or ruining it.  It's a great height for Meghan and she does a lot of her coloring/drawing on it.

We have one and I love having it.  I keep baskets under it to store books and the girls do their puzzles and coloring on it during the day.
