today caroline has therapy then we're having lunch at my mom's before school. tomorrow my sister is coming over in the morning to visit. friday we have the oncology christmas party in the evening. i'm hoping to take the kids to see christmas lights at the zoo on saturday evening.
I was supposed to work from home today and get my haircut at Noon but now my daycare is closed on Thursday for a funeral (the kids are still displaced from the daycare portion of the church b/c of the fire) so I'm working in the office today and will be out tomorrow. I think me and the little kids are going to put up our x-mas tree and hopefully put away 52 loads of laundry!!!
Now I'm getting my hair did at 7:00 p.m. tonight instead.
I am beyond knee deep- like tippy-toe over my head deep in recruitment for our RA positions. This is the first year I am chairing our recruitment committee, and lets just say the pressure is a little intense.
Beyond that, I'm trying to restrain myself from evel looking at slick deals, lol.
I need to go online and buy our Polar Express tickets and then plan Christmas with my mom around that date.
And pay Travis's parking ticket (HUGE eye roll)
And pay bills
And And And
I hate this point in the semester. 17 more days until the buggers leave for break.
I am working today to make up time from last week.
Travis had his audition for the musical last night and after I talked to the choreographer (she actually gave him a ride for me) I am pretty confident he will make it in.
Plans for this week equal don't melt down, hug my sister, hug my sister and some more hugging my sister. The funeral is Saturday and after John is taking me to NYC to see the christmas tree and the decorations He said he is making me go up to the top of the Empire State Building because I never have but um I am deathly afraid of elevators that go up more then a few floors so we'll see LOL.
I have a bunch of other things I have to try to get done this week/beginning next week.
I attempted to look at my christmas decorations last night and yeah I am so not into it at all. Maybe if I get a tree I'll want to put up other decorations.
I have nothing planned for the week. But this weekend I hope to get our tree and get it decorated. And go see new moon at some point if we can find a babysitter. sigh. Noboday seems to want to babysit!
Oh I do have to call and make a dentist appoinment for M2. He was crying yesterday saying his teeth hurt. He has a tooth on each side in the back that are chipped. I don't know how that happened. Maybe from him grinding his teeth in his sleep?!
When are you going to post pictures from your trip? How was it? Did the kids love the beach? Did you all survive the drive?
The trip was awesome!! I took 500 pictures
The drive down I separate the carseats and sat in back in the middle. It was okay but Kate kicked John in the back alot while he was driving. We stopped in Alabama and he said we are moving those seats before we go any further! I was skeptical but we put Kate back in the middle, and Jake and John on either side and that is the way we rode the rest of the trip and they did amazingly well. Whenever Kate would get antsy and say she wanted out it was almost time to stop anyway so we'd stop and eat or stretch and she willingly got back in her seat for the next leg. jake was basically in a nintendo ds coma the entire ride! I also had a portable dvd player and he watched some of his cartoons. I used your trick of pulling out suprises when it got rough (for Jake I never had to).
The kids LOVED the beach!!! The water and sand and sunshine and shells. Jake gathered enough shells to pass out to his class. Last night we separated them into baggies - we put each friend's name on a baggy and Jake chose which shells each friend got, he really enjoyed doing that.
Everyone slept well in the condo (John slept with Kate and I slept with Jake on the pull out - Little John got a bedroom and bathroom all to himself). We had a whirlpool tub and gigantic shower and I think Jake and Kate took 10 showers in the 3 days we were there! They would take plastic dinosaurs in the shower and just stay for a long time (which worked out well b/c they both still were having lots of sinus drainage, etc. and the extended warm shower times really helped clear their heads (and mine ).
Our Thanksgiving meal was great - my husband actually stepped up and told me to go relax and did most of the cooking! The turkey cooked while we played on the beach!!!
So, overall, it was a fantastic success. It could not have gone any better!!

Chrissie - I'm no dentist but I think at this point our little ones have given those baby teeth quite the work out. They are tired little teeth and I think they are preparing themselves to fall out and make room for permanents. I know with my oldest son by the time some of those baby teeth started to fall out they looked like they were worn out!
OMG Kris your vacation sounds awesome! I'm glad you had a great time!
I think you're right about the baby teeth!
I just found out how sucky our dental insurance is! I took me forever to make an appoinment. Every singe dentist that was recommended to me is not covered by our insurance. I think I'm going have Michael change our plan for next year. That doesn't do me much good now though!

I have never been a fan of dental insurance until this year!
It never seemed worth it to me - then we got this awesome plan at work. I think I pay $100 ish a month for it but it covers 100% of cleanings every 6 months for 5 people + x-rays with no deductible! It paid $1,000 towards John's braces (that is it but honestly worth it). Now if we had to have something other than preventative done I think we have a deductible but so far we're teeth healthy.
We were paying $125/each a cleaning and more if x-rays were taken (even though we get a courtesy discount b/c my SIL is the hygenist there).
What's even better is the coverage is identical for in and out of network so it doesn't matter what dentist we use as long as they take insurance.
i dont really have much planned this week. i need to go to the jewelry store to get beth's gift bc they called yesterday to tell me it's in. then i might pick up dons gift. (i have a HUGE vent about how much one of his daughters wants to contribute).
