we are debating on a tub for our master bathroom renovation.  right now, we have a huge soaker tub but it is not a jetted tub.  don has always wanted one of those and I did too....but I have always wanted a claw foot tub.  and that would fit the age of the  house as well.  which do you prefer?

also, right now, we are taking out the stand alone shower and putting in a washer and dryer so we can have it upstairs.  the plan was to put in a shower in the tub.  does anyone have this set up?  do you like it?

tia!!

Would it be an old claw foot tub made of porcelain?

I remember those being very cold and uncomfortable on the parts where the water doesn't hit.

We had a jacuzzi tub and my husband loved it.

I love the look of the claw foot, but it is not very comfy. They are heavy as all heck too.

I think the jet tub would be used more. If it is the main bathroom that you will always use then I would go with more practical.

I can totally see how a claw foot tub would go with the style but I LOVE taking baths and I would totally go with a jetted tub. It would get tons more use (if it were me). How fun you get to redo it!

Oh, girl.

The jetted tub, hands down, especially if you like baths.

Claw footed tubs void the entire point of a relaxing, comfy bath. But they are pretty to look at.

can't believe i am changing my mind on the claw foot, but you all are right!!  i would get more use out of a jetted tub since I LOVE baths :)

Well then I really don't think you'll regret your decision. I'm supa jealous! But I already spend enough time in the bath so I can't imagine if I had a jetted tub how bad it would be!

i LOVE LOVE LOVE taking a bath in an old claw foot...it's been years though. If we ever biult our own house, the master bath would definately have to built around a claw foot.
