Per Henry's request, I went to GameStop this afternoon to get another Wii remote so we'd have 4.

Their used games were Buy 2, Get 1 Free (which they may be everyday, Idk) so I got 3.

Just now, I played The Price is Right with Henry.

I love that game.

I also got some Winter Sports game and Petz Sports.

My stoooopid computer freezes after I type about 3 words, then I have to wait for it to unfreeze to continue.

Frustrating.

Glen took Mark to Sports Authority this afternoon to look at a tennis racket (racquet?) for himself but came home with a SpongeBob one for Mark instead.

So the 4 of us went to the park and played tennis.

Mark got bored after about 4 tries to hit a ball so Henry tried it.

He was REALLY good at it.

I think we've found his sport. :D

whew.  Really long day.

I'm probably in the minority, but the new walmart rules were perfect for us!  Ours opened up at 11pm though (I think most did actually).  The "hot" items, I think there were 6 of them or so, required a ticket but were spread out.  So, one person unless in a team couldn't get all 6.  Personally, I'm fine with that.  I get annoyed with the random person walking out with 5 laptops selling them in the parking lots (which I am hearing happened with Zhu Zhu pets at Toysrus).

Travis went at 3:30.  He walked the store and mapped out where stuff was, got a few things that were already available ($2 movies went outr early since they were technically a Fri/Sat sale not a doorbuster so at midnight they were available).  At 5 am he got every single thing on his list and was out the door before 6am.

He got lots at walkmart, a good chunk was actually for three other boys I've adopted for the holidays.  There is no way I could buy for them if it wasn't for black friday.  I was SO EXCITED that they hade Koda's size in Toy Story Pajamas.  Beyond thrilled.

We picked up an extra jacket for Tristen.  At $15 for a 2-1, it actually seems decent.  They also had the Starter jackets/pants for $3, so each got one of those.  My favorite Walmart find this year was the bedding in the bag for $18.  One of Toy Story, One of Cars.

continued, lol.

Target:  4 pack of Cars cars for 7.49, Polar Express 3D 5.99, and a bunch of other stuff.

JC Penney:  Free snowglobe, cute.  Jeans for the boys we've adopted, tops as well.  And really really awesome $3 pillow. Merry Christmas to me.

AC Moore:  $8.99 K'Nex tub

Staples:  250 disk folder $4.XX.  Travis uses these and they are normally 30+

oooohhhh, and the $2 full sized towels at walmart.  Good find.

So, success.

I'm pooped, need to keep my eyes off amazon, and ended the day only 2 items short of what we were planning.  One toy truck, and a memory card.  I got a memory card, but it isn't as powerful as Travis wants.  Whiner ;)

Hi, Sonya!

Not sure about the rest of the weekend.

I need to stay out of the stores today as I spent way more than I should have yesterday at 2 grocery stores and GameStop.

I was thinking zoo but Mark's throat was hurting yesterday, and I don't want to drag him around outside in the cold all day if he isn't feeling well.

We played on the Wii so much the past few days that my back, neck, arm, and shoulder are killing me.

Tomorrow morning is the Hanging of the Greens service at church; Mark's choir is singing and both boys have toys to take to the front for donating.

I hope Mark is feeling better by then.

Looks like some of you got some good deals. I didn't go black friday shopping per se, but I had to drop my mom at the airport for her trip , so I was out and figured I would stop into a few stores...honestly, I went into a Toys R Us, and was so disgusted by the mess I left and went into Michaels ( a craft store). Got Allyson a $200 Cricut for $69 and a cartridge for $30 (usually $89)

Also, went to a jewelry store (she wanted chamilia beads for christmas) to see if there were any deals...I bought two beads, so I got the clasp bracelet for free smile.gif $50 value...I've wanted 1, so it's for me smile.gif

I'm going to see "The Blind Side" with my parents in a few minutes.

I've been dying to see it; hope it's as good as everyone says.

My kids are being BEARS today.

I know Mark isn't feeling that great but I don't know about Henry.

If he is feeling bad, he wouldn't tell me because he knows I'll take him to the doctor.

I thought maybe he was just hungry (after just doughnuts for breakfast) so I gave him a plate of cheese slices, crackers, and bacon.

He just came out of his room to ask me to help him reach the salt shaker.

He had eaten everything except a couple slices of cheese.

Apparently those 2 slices needed salt.

I took a little word game on our trip to play in the car.

I wasn't sure Glen would play it but on the way home, he did.

You pull one card from the box with a topic (like "Something made of wood") and another card with a letter ("D"), then come up with something. Desk or door or something.

We played it on the way home from Missouri until Glen got a speeding ticket, then he wouldn't play with me anymore.

Oops.

Things we left in Missouri:

-my digital camera battery charger
-one of my rechargable digital camera batteries
-bag of Hostess doughnuts
-Glen's pillow

Luckily, Glen's grandparents have doc appts here in town on Tuesday so they're bringing our stuff with them (except maybe the doughnuts).

There's lots of bickering and snarkiness happening on the AFC forums this weekend.

Black Friday brings out the beast in some.

i braved the walmart crowds for ONE item...the 8gb ipod touch--it came with a free $50 itunes card. stood in line for 2 HOURS to get it and when I got to the front of the line there were only 6 left.

other than that I didnt do any shopping...came home and went back to bed.

did the tree and inside decor today...got done with the tree and couldnt figure out why it didnt quite look right. found another box in the closet and realized I forgot to put on the 2 kinds of garland and about 20 other ornaments LMAO...it looks better now.

almost done shopping. the kids had the option of their usual 3 xmas morning gifts or ONE more expensive gift each and they all chose one more expensive gift. I mostly just have to get their xmas eve jammies and something for don. the oldest girls who are married are getting money so I'll have to get that set aside. Daniel will still get his usual 3 xmas day gifts plus his santa gift...the older kids all understand why he'll get more gifts (and they will still be cheaper than what the older kids got)...plus when they see what they got they better not complain or i will be 2-3 less children smile

i went. the new way walmart is doing things sucks. usually they open the doors and people grab what they want and get in line to pay.

this year, they opened the doors an hour before they were officially "opening" and there were ticket lines for the hot items. everything else was considered "grab and go"...i have done black friday for years and have always got to walmart at 4:15-4:30 for a 5am opening and always got what i wanted (i never want the tvs/computers anyways). this year since they opened the doors early, they decided to let people who wanted grab and go items (sale stuff that wasn't an electronic) fill up their carts prior to 5am. the registers didn't turn on until 5am--so when i got there a little after 4am people already had full carts and were in line to pay, waiting for the registers to open.

usually i am in and out w/in 15 minutes. this year i got in line to pay at 5:30am and at 7:20 with 5 people left in line in front of me, dave called and said he needed to leave for work in 15 minutes. i was so not leaving a cart full of stuff after 2 hours in line! thank God, the manager came over then and booted the elderly man cashier and replaced him with someone younger. the line finally started moving and i was home by 7:38.

there was a bunch of stuff i couldn't get--the $69 kodak was gone, the ds games for $7--the only one in stock had "cartoon violence and nudity" (ummm, no thanks), and they didn't even get the $5 new moon board games in stock at all.

so, all that time for a ton of $3 disney pjs, $2 dvds, and some non-sale odds and ends. i couldn't believe that i can usually hit kohls, walmart, toys r us, and target in less than the time it took me just to pay at walmart today with their new and "improved"biggrin organization system!

it was still worth it for the people watching though! i love the ones who are doing it for the first time saying loudly "why are all these people here!" oh, and the lady with a very newborn baby in a sling--not the best new mother idea, atleast not at a place like walmart!!

i liked how it was more organized...people still had that crazed look in their eyes, but standing in line i got to LOL at other people. I was surprised how much they did sell out of while i was in line...fortunately it wasnt what i was going for.

D'Anne wanted to get some new towels, but when she got to the towels they were WIPED OUT...she NEEDS new towels. She was funny though bc while we were in line 3 women came walking by with their buggies LOADED with towels. She said loudly, "Who the heck gets up at the butt crack of dawn to buy all those dang towels??? REALLY, WHO DOES THAT!"
