what do you guys wear for the holidays? do you get fancy? i am looking through catalogs and the clothes are beautiful - but i cant IMAGINE having this fancy of a life!!

i usually wear just like a basic pencil skirt and sweater/long sleeve shirt with a pair of boots or heels on christmas.  new years, i never go out.  who's buying these tafetta gowns?!

This year I am wearing this one piece black suit. I will see if I can find a pic with a metallic type short swearter and heels. I have to see what looks better.

I need another outfit though.

Kelly, I'm with you. Love the outfits, don't have anywhere to wear them. :)

One time I bought this beautiful silver taffetta (sp?) gown with a cute little black shirt with a shrug. I thought for sure I would find somewhere to where it around the holidays.

I ended up selling it last year, with tags still on. Sigh.

when i worked we had a few "formal" occasions each holiday season that i had to attend and entertain clients.

i would imagine there are people getting dressed up for dances, events like the philharmonic or ballet and stuff like that.  is anyone here on the board involved in charities - there are usually a bunch of charity events.

also, growing up as a kid my parents attended a lot of balls and fancy dinner parties - perhaps there are less of those these days, but my parents were big on volunteering and charities and stuff like that.

ah, charity balls and corporate events - not my world but so true!!  i'd love to get dressed up that fancy (not for a wedding though!) - but we both have such casual careers and such casual lives.  i'd be like toni, selling the fancy dress with tags on :)
