Potty Training SUCCESS!!!!!

Well, as you all know, I tried pt'ing with Kate a while ago, and she was not having it.  She said when she turned 3, she would be a big girl and so we decided (after she was off of amoxicillin, which makes her poop a lot, and well...it isn't pretty) to dive in and do it.

We started this weekend (Saturday morning) putting her in undies.  I didn't really do anything formal, I saw from the last time she thought that whole deal was ridiculous, but we had been talking about it, so she knew the basics.  We got plastic pants to put over her undies, and she had a lot of accidents.  I was worried, but she did want to, and when prompted, she would go.  And I sang at church that afternoon, and when I came home, Bill said that he had made her stay in the kitchen (on the wood floor) until she learned to go on her own.  So she did it.

Sunday we had one accident during dinner, but otherwise she did great.  Again though, she needed prompting.

Today she had zero accidents!!!!  She was prompted to go all morning (before school, during school, after school, etc), but this afternoon she went on her own, or would say yes when I asked her if she needed to (she had been saying no before).

Now I will say this...she is taking it entirely too far.  She isn't napping AT.ALL.  She is just constantly in the potty, which keeps Anna up too.  And now they are both getting up and meeting in the bathroom.  Oy.  Also, she was up at 5am sitting in the bathroom because she had taken off her dipe, gone to the potty and then said she couldn't figure out how to get the diaper back on.  Tonight she is in a pull up and has already been up like 3 times to pee since bedtime (she goes a tiny bit everytime-she only sits there for like 2 seconds.  I guess we need to work on that.

But all in all, she is doing GREAT!!!  We need to work on getting her to fully pee each time, and get her to sleep again, but YAY!!!!!!

LOL-I know, I am lucky. Anna hasn't napped daily in a long time. She naps some days, and not others, but it is less than half the time. Kate has been napping 75% of the time, but she has never needed as much sleep as Anna.

But I still make them go to their rooms and rest in a quiet, dark room, and they stay in there for about 2 hours regardless of whether or not they sleep. I don't mind if they play quietly in their beds, but they have to stay in there and be quiet. Mommy needs a break too!!!

That's great, Laura!

WTG, Kate.

With Josie, it was like a switch. One day she was having accidents, had to be reminded to go and then she just stopped and she almost never has accidents. She just goes when she needs to. Hopefully Kate will be like that, asap.

I'm sure once the novelity is over, she'll nap/rest again.
