Please say a prayer for my friends little 10 month old girl, Mary. She has been admitted to the hospital with H1N1, 105 temp and breathing is labored. She has been there since last night and no improvement yet.
I know the power of prayer, so please send some up and out for her.
Her family has had many blows this year. She lost her job as a teacher and now her husband just lost his last week. They need all the prayers they can get.
How terrible. I will say a prayer for the family. Please update us when you know something. It's hearing about cases like that, that make me realize how lucky we were.
Still the same. She has a fever of 104. The tylenol and Motrin are really not touching it. It did dip down to 102 after taking the Motrin. Her lungs are sounding good though right now. Just hoping she gets well soon.
They are waiting to hear back from the state if her two sons and husband have it too. They all are sick at home. No one can come to the hospital room without masks and it freaks the little one out.
UPDATE- she is home from the hospital, but still has a high fever. She never even saw a Ped. at the hospital or a Dr? They discharged over the phone :( I really hope she is ok and that was a good call.
I posted a pic of her to so that there is a face to go with the name.

omg. she is so young - that is heartbreaking to know she is/was so sick. I am hoping that them discharging her means she is doing well enough to be home but how scary! Still praying for that little sweetie. Thanks for updating, I was wondering about her before going to bed last night and hoping she was doing better.
That is so scary! Why would they discharge her without even looking at her? Especially with such a high fever? Something doesn't sound right there...
She was in for two days. No Dr. came to see her and just nurses. I do not get it either. They did check her lungs and I would assume a Dr. would do that, no?
That is why I am worried. I am waiting to hear from her to see how the fever is. Her pedi had a heartattack on Mon and her ped. office discharged her by phone. I did not know that can be done.

UPDATE:She just text msg me and thinks she is doing better. Still with fever, but lower, coughing and congested. She got rest last night, so that is good. I just asked her about the Dr.

that is against the law here. You can NOT be in the hospital for 24 hours without seeing a doctor, much less for 2 days!!

Right, I never have been able to leave a hospital without seeing my Dr. or one on call. I do not get it. Maybe late last night someone came it, but as of 5:00 pm yesterday no Dr. had seen the little one, just nurses. I thought it was so odd that they would admit her and then not have a Dr. check her. Do nurses check the lungs? I just asked her if she ever saw a Dr. and waiting her response.

keep us posted on what she said!
ETA: Yes, nurses check the lungs, in truth more often than the docs do, but still she should've been seen by a doctor, especially with the flu stuff.

Ok Jen - here is the scoop. She never did see a Dr. until 8 last night and they discharged her then. She did see a Dr. in ER and that is when she was admitted.
Anyway - she is on tamiflu and the fever is lower.
The other sad news is her pedicatrician who was 51 passed away :( He was a dear friend to her and she is heartbroken. I do not understand how so much can go wrong for one person. She is at a breaking point emotionally.
