Ditto too.  It's killing me.  I can not get this to work out for me!  I never seem to have coupons for what I need.  I'm going to really try and figure this all out this week.

I did well this morning - not "free" well, but I did save quite a bit. ;)

I went to Ralph's (same as Kroger), and spent $50, saved $33.69. The only things I got that weren't on sale and/or I didn't have a coupon for were coconut milk "ice cream", a sourdough boule, and a rotisserie chicken (because I almost always get fresh bread and a rotisserie chicken when I grocery shop on Monday mornings, LOL). So if I hadn't gotten those things, my total would have been around $37.

I matched store sales to coupons. They had a deal running on Del Monte canned tomatoes, which I go through a ton of, so it was a good opportunity to stock up. They were $.99/each, but if you buy 10 of those and/or certain other items, you save another $5, so they ended up being $.49/each. I also had a coupon for $1/5 Del Monte canned items, so 5 cans came to about $1.45, so $.29/each, a savings of $.90/each off the regular price!

I'm trying to figure out a scenario for CVS tomorrow...stay tuned. ;)

I did okay at Kroger last night. I just needed a few things and had coupons that were going to expire.

I saved $14.50 and spent $9.98. So it wasn't the greatest but I saved more than I spent--which is my current shopping goal.

I got:
2 Ragu spaghetti sauces
3 Steamfresh veggies
1 Steamfresh meal
2 Fleischmann's yeast strips

I did well for me at CVS today, but not Corey and Apies well.  ;)

I spent $69.09 and saved $82.97.  I had manufacturer's coupons for sale items, and divided my purchases up so I got ECBs first.  I also scanned my CVS card when I got in the store, and it produced a $15 off a purchase of $75 or more coupon.  :)  I did get some things that I didn't save a ton on, because they were things I actually needed and either weren't on sale, or I didn't have a coupon for.

this kind of savings isn't an every week thing. this past week just happened to be a stellar one. how you pay pennies for things is by combining the store sale price with coupons partnered with a store promotion (aka catalina deal).

your first transaction will produce x amount to be used on your next order.
then the next time you go, you buy more items included in the same promotion, pay with the "on your next order" coupon from your first transaction, hence little $ out of pocket. then a new 'on your next order' coupon will spit out and you will go back a third time and basically keep rolling the 'store money' all week long.

i'm sorry to the people that this isn't making any sense to. you would probably be better off googling the info and sorting it out that way:)

I so know how you feel!

I got so excited when John came home from the grocery store yesterday because he had some good Catalina coupons print out, LOL.  I still don't really know how to work it, but I'll start by using those coupons and see what happens!

hey girls!

a few of us have really gotten into couponing, so i thought it would be fun to start a thread where we can all share what we've bought so far!

so go ahead and share!

Finally!!  I really could get addicted to saving money like this ;)

I matched coupons to the sale and got one $5.00 catalina back.  I also ran into the paper guy at the store - he was selling subscriptions (which I wanted to order the sunday paper anyway) and he was giving a $10.00 gift certificate!

So, my total with coupons, store savings and the gift certifcate and catalina was:

I'll break it up (I went three times)

the first time, I spent 42.39 and I saved $44.49 for 52%

the second time, I spent 52.07 and saved 67.13 for a savings of 53% (that calculation didn't figure in the $15.00 (gc and catalina)

the third time, I spent 42.03 and saved 33.62 for a savings of 45%

I also had a prescription transferred to Target b/c i could get a $10.0 gc.  I then had some coupons so I bought pull-ups, washing detergent and spray n wash - all of it FREE!!

I had a decent CVS trip yesterday, but the highlight was something I've never bought before and don't really need, LOL.

Glade products are on sale, and I had coupons. I got 2 Sense & Spray starter kits for $6/each. They usually sell for $9.99. I had 2 coupons for $4/off, so got each for $2, and then got $4 in Extra Care Bucks, so they were essentially free. $20 worth of product for free - my first time getting a deal like that!

I haven't had a grocery trip under 40% savings in weeks either. :)

ha!  today was awesome.

first of all, i stocked up for donations to my school's collection for food baskets for the holidays.  i bought what they requested:  5 boxes of stove top, 8 cans turkey gravy, 4 pouches instant potatoes, 4 boxes cake mix, 4 tubs frosting, and 2 roasting pans (and all for only $13).

total today for 56 items (including the items & total above)  = $41.80 with a savings of $104.  woot woot!

Yay!  I got 2 of them, so one for each floor.  I cook with a lot of garlic, so my house probably smells and I don't even realize it!

I had a really good trip at Giant Eagle yesterday.  I was going to upload my spreadsheet, but can't figure out how?

Total shelf price    $211.59
Total Sales price   $134.05

Total out of pocket:  $60.45

It should have been $3.60 cheaper, but I acidentally picked up 3 packs of the wrong vegetables that ended up being $1.20 each.  I didn't realize it until I got home.

When I got home I laid everything out and asked DH how much he thought I spent, so he added everything up and said $225.   He was shocked when I told him the total!!!!  He just kept saying "you got a steal"
